Councilman Fletcher asked the status of the Koemple trial. City Attorney McCarthy <br />reported that the final witnesses had been called and that the case would go to {6111' <br />the jury tomorrow. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, meeting was <br />adjourned to Tuesday, April 15, 1944, at 8:00 P. PR. <br />On roll call the following were present: Councilmen C. C. Ar{nstrong, Harold F. <br />Anderson, Carl A. Britschgi, E. A. Fletcher, W. W. Hilton, George W. McNulty, <br />Mayor Floyd D. Granger and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Also present were: City <br />Manager Robert W. Mead, City Attorney Paul A. I.IcCarthy, Building Inspector L. M. <br />Duncan, Police Chief C. L. Collins,.Fire Chief Mark E. Ryan, Street Superin- <br />tendent H. L. Winter. <br />City Manager Mead and City Clerk Dodge publicly ca}ivassed the absentee ballots and Ill <br />returns from the election held April 12, 1944, and Councilman Fletcher, seconded <br />by Councilman McNulty, moved adoption of resolution embodying results of the <br />election. P;Iotion passed unanimously. The resolution reads as follows: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 118 <br />DECLARING CANVASS OF RETURNS AND RESULT OF <br />MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD".APRIL 11, 1944 <br />WHEREAS, a regular municipal election was duly held in the City of Redwood <br />City, California,, on the 11th day of April; 1944, at which election four (4) <br />members of the Council of the City of Redwood City„were elected, to wit: <br />CHESTER C. ARMSTIONG <br />FLOYD D. GRANGER <br />W. W. HILTON, <br />GEORGE W. I10 NULTY <br />AND, WHEREAS, all notices required in connection with said municipal {� <br />election were duly published as required by law as appears from the affidavits <br />of publication thereof on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of (� <br />Redwood City; and <br />` WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redwood City is the body required <br />by law to canvass the returns of said general municipal election; and <br />WHEREAS, it appears that said general municipal election was held in <br />accordance with law on the lith day of April, 1944, as aforesaid, and that the <br />places for said election were kept µopen during the time required by law, and <br />that said election was held and conducted and the votes thereat received and <br />0 <br />■ <br />
