Motion passed unanimously. F <br />l City Attorney McCarthy reported on the Redwood City Bus Line hearing before the. <br />Railroad Commission. Mr. Martin's application to consolidate the line between <br />` Redwood City and Palo Alto,with the line between Redwood City and San Carlos was <br />granted. Present routes will be used without change. There will be service from <br />5:00 A. M. to 12:15 A. M. with fifteen minute intervals at the morning, noon and <br />evening peak hours. There will be through service between San Carlos and Palo <br />Alto via Redwood City.and the schedule will be increased to twenty minutes be- <br />tween these two terminals. The rated between San Carlos and any point in Redwood <br />City will be ten cents for adults and five cents for children and a fourteen <br />i ride ticket for $1.00. From San Carlos to any point in Redwood City, including <br />i the cement wor4s, to Palo Alto, the rate will be t7Henty cents for adults, ten <br />{ cents for childred and fourteen rides for $2.00, 'From S. P. Station in Redwood <br />( City to Palo Alto,;ten cents for adults, five cents for children and fourteen <br />y <br />rides for $1.00. Mr. Martin is operatingcseven pieces of equipment and has an <br />i order to replace two of the sixteen passenger busses. Mr. Martin testified he <br />4 had no method of refunding unused portion of commutation tickets and was directed <br />lto file a statement of some reasonable method of redeeming commutation tickets <br />l only partially used. The application of the Pacific Greyhound Linea to run five <br />F trips daily via Middlefield Road to Palo Alto with stops at Dibble Hospital was <br />granted in the interest of public needs. It was stated that, if after the <br />present war, it was found inadvisable to continue this service it could be dis- <br />continued, The permit allows the Greyhound to ta4e passengers north of Redwood <br />City and south of Palo Alto to Dibble Hospital with no other stops along <br />t� Middlefield Road. There was some discussion as to the advisability of the Grey- <br />hound being allowed to drive their busses through the main streets of Redwood { <br />k City but it was decided not to request the Railroad Commission to change the <br />route until it was seen how the present route worked out. Councilman Granger <br />moved, seconded by Councilman Anderson, that the City Attorney's report be filed. <br />i� <br />! Abatement proceedings of ten buildings submitted to the Council on May 19 1944, were <br />15 next brought up for discussion. Building Inspector Duncan, Fire Chief Ryan and <br />Health Inspector Stain were sworn in by City Attorney McCarthy. <br />j The first building to be considered was one owned by W. L. Meussdorffer, located <br />j; at 1606 Main Street, barber shop on ground floor operated by Joe Borra and Son. <br />Building Inspector Duncan gave the following testimony: <br />Q.
