Application for dance permit was received from Yvonne Schlichtmann, wife of Howard Frederic, to hold dances at Foresters Hall June 7th and 14th, fee for both dances having been paid. Miss Schlichtmann will conduct the dances and Mr. Frederic will continue to conduct the band. On motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman McNulty, permit was granted. Communication was received from the Hacienda Circle 169 of Druids requesting per- mission to conduct rummage sale Thursday, Friday and Saturday, June 8th 9th and 10th, in the McGarvey Building at 842 Main Street. Councilman McNulty moved, seconded by Councilman Anderson, that permit be granted.. Communication was received from the Wo4en of the Moose for permission to hold dances at the Moose Club, 826 Arguello Street, on Saturdays, June 10th and 17th. These dances were formerly conducted on Friday evenings. Councilman Fletcher moved, seconded by Councilman Armstrong, that permit be granted. Motion passed un- animously. Communication was received from Ole S. Oleson, Chairman of the Peninsula Celebration Association, advising of a celebration to be held July 4th in Redwood City and stating that the committee would appreciate the cooperation of the Council for the promotion of the celebration. The coomunication was ordered filed. Communication was received from the Traffic $tudy'Commmttee recommending that space for three oars be zoned for one hour parking in front of Henry Witte's new building on the southeasterly side of James Avenue near California Street, Councilman Fletcher moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty, that the recommendation of the Traffic Study Committee be accepted. Motion passed unanimously. Council- man Granger asked if it were not necessary to adopt a resolution in regard to this matter. Councilman Armstrong was of -.the opinion that there was an ordinance in effect whereby time limits for parking could be changed by means of signs, in which City Attorney McCarthy concurred. Application for trailer camp was received from Mrs. Rose Roy, City Clerk Dodge read inspection report of,Health Inspector Stein in which he stated he had made an inspection of about a 2 acre plot situated just inside Redwood City limits on Bayshore.Highway,and extending easterly to sewer outfall, ga.ised and well drained grounds. Two toilets, washbasins, two wash trays, platform for garbage can. Trailers will be connected_to all sewer lines, water lines and electricity. He stated the applicant will comply with the State Law and Redwood City Ordinance No. 403. There was some discussion as to the exact location of the proposed camp. It was the general consensus of opinion that the Council was reluctant to take any definite action in -the matter at this meeting.. The applicant presented plans and specifications of the camp which he was asked to leave with the council and the matter was placed on the agenda for the next meeting. City Manager Mead reported on the amount owing the water department by the city. He stated the original loan was in the amount of $25,933.66. 0,10,782.77 had been paid back, leaving a balance owing the water department of $15,150.89.
