Councilman Britschgi moved, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, that the matter be laid over to the next meeting and in the meantime a search to be made for the missing agreement. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor H4ton,asked the status of the Vic Michel. property. Building Inspector Duncan stated the building was not completely torn down yet. City Attorney McCarthy advised that the legal status of the -matter was the owner should be notifted'that the*.time has expired to remove the building and unless it is down by the next meeting of the council the Building Inspector will have it removed and bill the owner. Councilman.Anderson so moved, seconded by Councilman Granger. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor Hilton commented on a building located on Arguello between Fuller and Bradford Street. Councilman Granger asked that the minutes be searched and if a record can be found of a permit allowing this building to be moved the matter be placed on the agenda of the next meeting so that the owner can be notified and ordered to show cause. Councilman Granger asked for a report on the boarding house at 35 Hudson Street. City Manager Mead reported that the, owner had been notified to discontinue the boarding house. She has no more boarders but has two roomers which is allowed under the ordinance. Councilman Granger commented on the curb at the Shell Station at Bay.shore and Brewster,, believing it should be removed as it was a traffic hazard. City Manager Mead stated he would investigate the matter. Councilman Granger stated that Mr. Henry.Beeger is agreeable if it meets with the approval of the Southern Pacific Company for the city to plant roses along the fence on his.property adjacent to Southern Pacific property.. He stated he be— lieved the city should ask the consent of the Southern Pacific Company to do thio. Councilman Granger commented on the condition of the trees along Brewster Avenues, stating they were dangerous. He suggested the branches be trimmed from the bottom of the trees. City Manager Mead stated that the Park Department was be— hind its shcedule of tree trimming due to so much time having been spent at the cemetery. Councilman Granger stated the merchants in the block between the railroad tracks and El Camino Real were complaining of the high school students actions and would like to have an officer assigned to that block between the hours of 11:30 A. M. and 1:00 P M. Police Chief Collins stated the department was short of men and a man could not be spared for that duty. Councilman McNulty believed the students should be made to observe the traffic signals. Councilman Fletcher thought the matter should be referred to the school board. Mayor Hilton asked if, the school could have an officer on duty there. City Manager Mead stated he had discussed the matter with the school officials and that they had been very cooperative. Councilman McNulty moved, seconded by Councilman Anderson, that the City Manager be instructed to get in touch with the high school and see if some system can be worked out to control traffic during school hours.
