City Manager Mead reported on the meeting held with Mr. Meussdorffer and the depart- ment heads in regard to the abatement proceedings against property located at 1606 Main Street. He stated that Mr. IlIeussdorffer requested that he be given in writing the exact violations of the building and that this would be done in .a few days. City Manager Mead reported that he had contacted Mr. A. C. Argo, Superintendent of Sequoia Union High School, in regard to relieving traffic hazard at El Camino Real and Broadway during the school lunch hour. He stated that Mr. Argo was very willing to cooperate and will try to work out a plan for next fail . before the next school year. City Attorney McCarthy reported that he had notified Miss Michel that the council requested the blacksmith shop to be abated within thirty days and noted later that the minutes specified two weeks. Miss Michel advised him that her brother would contact the party who was supposed to remove this building and -he asked that the matter be laid over to the first meeting in quZy. Councilman Anderson moved that the matter be placed on the agenda for the first meeting in July, seconded by Councilman McNulty. Motion passed unanimously. City Manager Mead reported that, together with the fire chief and building inspector, he had outlined to the owner of the. Garden City Products Company what was re- quired to clean up the lot. The owner has agreed to clean it up in accordance with these instructions and 11% Mead recommended that the matter be placed on. the agenda for the next meeting. Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman Anderson, moved that the matter be placed on the agenda for the next meeting. Motion passed unanimously. In the matter of the status of building located on Arguello Street between Fuller . and Bradford Streets, Councilman Anderson moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty, that the matter be put on the agenda for the next meeting and a further search be made of the minutes so that amore complete record can be had. Motion passed ,unanimously.. fined Councilman Granger believed that a post-war file should be maint 7_. and moved that such a file be established, seconded by Councilman Anderson with the thought that the file be kept so that at any time the council asks for information on post-war matters the information will be up-to-date. Councilman Granger accepted the amendment to his motion. Motion passed unanimously. City Clerk Dodge read communication from the War Memorial Committee in regard to request for consideration in 1944-45 budget. Mr. Ross Winchester appeared before the Council as a member of the committee stating that the committee had put in a great deal of time and effort in formu�-- lating plans for the war memorial building and had visited several such buildings in the bay region. He stated they were now at the point where they were ready to offer recommendations to the council. The,Board of Supervisors of San Mateo 1
