City P.Ianager Mead advised the Council that it had been almost impossi.- . <br />ble to get the parts to fix the trucks end tliat it had been a matter of great <br />J <br />concern to both him and. the Fire Chief. The parts had been receive6. and the <br />mechanics were working; overtime in order to put the trucks back into service. <br />;ouncilman McNulty moved, seconded by Councilman Armstrong, that claims No. 4663 to <br />4667, 4675 to 4750 in the amount of 331,113.09 be approved and ordered paid. <br />Under the question, Councilman Grantith <br />ger questioned e amount paid for use of s <br />• <br />personal cars to 'city employees. City ManaGer Mead e;q)lained that employees F I <br />having to use their personal cars on city business were paid at the rate of -07+ <br />per mile with chie exception of the engineer yPno was paid .10 per mile because of <br />carrying surveying instruments in his car. Councilman Armstrong, was of the <br />opinion that it was impossible to operate a car on less than .07 per mile. 1) <br />Councilman Granger asked how the cost of the heater planer work on a day basis <br />�I <br />compared with the bid submitted by Union Paving Co. City Manager P.iee..d replied <br />that the bid submitted was approximately ?3000 and that by day labor and rental y� <br />of the heater planer the cost was $500. Motion approving; claimed passed unani- <br />mously. <br />,ouncilman Granger offered resolution adjourning; meeting in memory of Corporal George <br />F. Priest uho lost his life while in the defense of his country and the clerk was <br />instructed to advise his family of the Council's action, seconded by Councilman <br />McNulty.
