M
n
City Manager Mead was of the opinion that the $600 for part time treasurer was not
included in the budget but only provided in the salary ordinance. Councilman
Armstrong moved that the previous motion authorizing transfer of this fund be
rescinded and a report be had at the next meeting, seconded: by CourMlman Ander-'
son. Motion passed unanimously.
Councilman Granger moved that the approval of the tax committee's report be placed on
the agenda for the next meeting, seconded by Councilman McNulty. Motion Passed
unanimously.
Councilman McNulty asked if there, was an ordinance prohibiting the use of cut-outs on
automobiles, stating the noise made from the use of them was very annoying.
City Attorney McCarthy stated this matter had come up before the Traffic Study,
Committee and that it had beendiscovered there was no ordinance to cover the
situation. He suggested that a letter be written to the high school in regar.6
to this matter. The general consensus of opinion of the Council was that this
practice should be stopped. .
Councilman Fletcher remarked about the number of bicycles left lyingflat on the side-
walk at Broadway and El Camino Real. He Was of the opinion that this was'a dan-
gerous practice and believed a police officer should be placed on duty at that
location between the hours of 4:30 P. M' to 6:00 P. M. to pick up any bicycles
left in that position.
Councilman Granger asked if the Traffic- Study Committee had made a report on the
parking area at Brewster Avenue and E1 Camino Real. City Clerk Dodge replied
that it had not. City Attorney McCarthy advised that the Committee had put
this matter over until the 'next meeting in order to allow more time for study.
Claims No. 4755 to 4999 in the amount of $12,416.19 were approved and ordered paid on
motion of Councilman UdNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. Under the ques-
tion, Councilman Granger questioned claim for'expenses of police department
,employee to Los Angeles and asked from what fund this was to be paid. City
Manager Mead replied that the Police Department had a $100 travel fund in its
budget appropriation. Notion passed unanimously.
City Manager Mead explained that the claim of $700 presented by Mr. Uhlenberg had been
deleted from the regular claims and asked that a special motion be made to pass
this claim. Councilman Fletcher moved, seconded by Councilman Anderson, that
Mr. Uhlenberg's claim of $700 be approved and ordered paid. Motion passed unani-
mously.
Councilman Armstrong asked the, status of the Koemple property. City Attorney McCarthy
advised that suit has been filed in San Francisco and is lying dormant. He
stated he had asked for suit to be brought to San ?Iateo.County because of the
defendants living in this vicinity. He said the attorney for the plaintiff
wishes to oppose this motion but up to the present nothing definite has been don;.
Councilman Anderson moved meeting be adjourned, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. Mo-
tipn passed unanimously.
Psi
A"V-1
R. S. Dodge, Ciy Clerk
9
1
1'1
J
0
r
s
1
