Mayor Granger submitted plan for streamlining the Traffic Study Committee, offering Y i.'I) the following recommendation for the Council's approval. 01. That the Committee shall not exceed nine°members, and are to be named on the following basis, with the appointments to be made -by the organizations indicated below: Planning Commission 2 Chamber of Commerce 2 Redwood City Commuters' Club 41 Redwood City Woman's Club 1 r Sequoia High School 1 Business and Professional Woman's Club 1 Elementary Schools. 1 02. The following to be appointed as an Advisory Board to the Traffic Study Committee: Sgt. W. H. Thorpe Police Department Paul A. McCarthy City Attorney Richard Clarke Engineer Recommendation approved on motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Anderson. Communication regarding delinquent taxes requesting permission to cancel #39.75 as uncollectible received from City Collector N. L. Miramontes. On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Armstrong, permission to cancel the delinquent taxes was granted. Communication read from John B. Wogan, Major General, U. S. A., requesting that the Mayor or a representative of the Citybe present at a armored review for Governor Warren on July 4th at Marysville, at which time certain combat vehicles � will be christened with the names.of incorporated cities and counties of the State. On motion of Councilman.Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the Mayor was chosen to represent the City at the function. Communication received from Chamber of Commerce recommending that the -request of the Mission Trails Association for a $100.00 donation be denied. On motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman McNulty, this recommendation was approved. Mr. John Nordstrand appeared before the Council representing the Traffic Study 'Committee, presenting a plan whereby traffic confusion and rapid moving of automobile traffic during the rush period between 5:30 and 6:30 P.M. would be handled to better advantage. Mr. Nordstrand submitted copies of this recom- mended plan for traffic control and on motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman McNulty, matter was placed on the agenda for the next meeting to give sufficient time for the Councilmen to study the plan. J On motion of Councilman Armstrong, seconded by Councilman Anderson, the City Council of the City of Redwood City unanimously accepted a limited lease from Southern Pacific Company, a corporation,'to the City of Redwood City, a municipal ' corporation, of certain premises at and near the Southern Pacific Passenger Railroad Station in said city, and consisting of a portion of James Avenue, a �J
