MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING. REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL JULY 6, 1943 8:00 P.M. I' Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen H. F. Anderson, C. C. Armstrong;, f C. A. Britschgi, E. A. Fletcher, W. W. Hilton, G. W. McNulty, Mayor F. D. Granger and City Clerk R. S. Dodgei Alsoapresent were City Manager R. W. Mead, City Attorney P. A. McCarthy, City Collector N. L..Miramontes, Police Chief 0. L. Collins, Fire Chief M. E. Ryan, Street Superintendent H. L. Winter, Building Inspector L. M. Duncan. On motion of Councilman Armstrong, seconded by Councilman Hilton, minutes of meeting of June 21st were approved. Application received for permit for restaurant license from August Sipignoli, Redwood Inn, 753 El Camino Real; on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman • 4 -Hilton, permit was allowed subject to the requirements of the Health Department and payment of necessary fees. Application received from Court Madrone No. 158, F. of A., for permit to conduct h dances on July 10th and 17th at the Foresters Hall. On motion of Councilman a Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, permit was granted. Application received from Charles Canepa, 2345 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, for -permit to conduct dances in a separate room from where liquor is dispensed, to 'music provided by records. On motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Council- man Fletcher, permit was granted. Cgmmunication received from Business and Professional Women's Club nominating Miss Mura Stilleson as member of Citizen's Traffic Committee. Appointment of this committee.placed on agenda for next meeting to allow time for receipt of letters ;! from other'organizations. Letter received from Planning -Commission recommending to the City Council the annex. li ation of -the lands of the Red Feather Products Co., Ltd., lying on or near the y Bayshore Highway, and in addition thereto, all the adjacent and contiguous j property that can be annexed. After discussion, matter of annexation was placed on the agenda for the next meeting. Matter of curfew ordinance was next discussed. City Attorney McCarthy reported on the meeting held in South San Francisco at which time committee consisting of five chiefs of police and the City Attorneys of South San Francisco and Redwood City were appointed to draft a ordinance suitable for the various cities. City Attorney McCarthy will mail copies to the members of the Council for study, and the matter was ordered placed on the agenda for the next meeting. I City Attorney McCarthy reported that no action had been taken to date on -granting a franchise to the Redwood City Bus Line. City Manager Mead stated that no financial statement had been received from Mr. Martin, proprietor of the Redwood City.Bus Line, since last December. City Attorney McCarthy was instructed to check into the legal aspects cone eining the liability of Mr. Martin for the repayment of the $1800.00 loan and also for an accounting for the period January let to date. to
