MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 6, 1943 <br />8:00 P.M. I' <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen H. F. Anderson, C. C. Armstrong;, <br />f <br />C. A. Britschgi, E. A. Fletcher, W. W. Hilton, G. W. McNulty, Mayor F. D. Granger <br />and City Clerk R. S. Dodgei Alsoapresent were City Manager R. W. Mead, City <br />Attorney P. A. McCarthy, City Collector N. L..Miramontes, Police Chief 0. L. <br />Collins, Fire Chief M. E. Ryan, Street Superintendent H. L. Winter, Building <br />Inspector L. M. Duncan. <br />On motion of Councilman Armstrong, seconded by Councilman Hilton, minutes of meeting <br />of June 21st were approved. <br />Application received for permit for restaurant license from August Sipignoli, Redwood <br />Inn, 753 El Camino Real; on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman <br />• 4 <br />-Hilton, permit was allowed subject to the requirements of the Health Department <br />and payment of necessary fees. <br />Application received from Court Madrone No. 158, F. of A., for permit to conduct h <br />dances on July 10th and 17th at the Foresters Hall. On motion of Councilman a <br />Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, permit was granted. <br />Application received from Charles Canepa, 2345 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, for <br />-permit to conduct dances in a separate room from where liquor is dispensed, to <br />'music provided by records. On motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Council- <br />man Fletcher, permit was granted. <br />Cgmmunication received from Business and Professional Women's Club nominating Miss <br />Mura Stilleson as member of Citizen's Traffic Committee. Appointment of this <br />committee.placed on agenda for next meeting to allow time for receipt of letters ;! <br />from other'organizations. <br />Letter received from Planning -Commission recommending to the City Council the annex. li <br />ation of -the lands of the Red Feather Products Co., Ltd., lying on or near the y <br />Bayshore Highway, and in addition thereto, all the adjacent and contiguous j <br />property that can be annexed. After discussion, matter of annexation was placed <br />on the agenda for the next meeting. <br />Matter of curfew ordinance was next discussed. City Attorney McCarthy reported on the <br />meeting held in South San Francisco at which time committee consisting of five <br />chiefs of police and the City Attorneys of South San Francisco and Redwood City <br />were appointed to draft a ordinance suitable for the various cities. City <br />Attorney McCarthy will mail copies to the members of the Council for study, and <br />the matter was ordered placed on the agenda for the next meeting. I <br />City Attorney McCarthy reported that no action had been taken to date on -granting a <br />franchise to the Redwood City Bus Line. City Manager Mead stated that no <br />financial statement had been received from Mr. Martin, proprietor of the Redwood <br />City.Bus Line, since last December. City Attorney McCarthy was instructed to <br />check into the legal aspects cone eining the liability of Mr. Martin for the <br />repayment of the $1800.00 loan and also for an accounting for the period January <br />let to date. <br />to <br />
