105: <br />being assessed. <br />! Councilman Fletcher entered meeting at 8;30 P.M. <br />GSj <br />Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman Armstrong that Engineering <br />,! Department's recommendation be ;accepted. Motion unanimously passed. <br />Applicotion was received from '`.H. Morrissey in behalf of his client, Iffilliam <br />Gormley, for permit to operate a taxi service. Councilman�'Britschgi <br />called attention to traffic violations of taxi drivers presently oper— <br />ating in city, and recommended that Police Chief Collins look into the <br />situation now existing, stating further that when Council grants permits, <br />owners of taxi companies be notified that if too many compliants are <br />' received, permits will be revoked. Councilman Armstrong moved, seconded <br />by Councilman McNulty that permit be.granted with condition that all city <br />oxdinnnces and other regulations be complied with. Motion unanimously <br />passed. <br />Aprlicstien was received�rom Ray Tofanelli for annexation of property known as <br />Eat on Villa, to Redwood City. Councilman Fletcher moved, seconded by <br />Councilman Anderson that matter be referred to City Attorney to prepare <br />necessary papers. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Communication was received from residents of Stanley Street between Hopkins and <br />Brewster Avenues, requesting amendment of zoning ordine.nce to provide <br />four foot set back line on rear of lots fronting Westgnte. Councilman <br />Anderson moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty that matter be referred to <br />Planning Commission. Motion unanimously passed, with stipulation by <br />Councilman Granger that no permit be granted until report is received from <br />the Planning Commission, <br />Application vias received from Ylilliam E. Brown and John T. McDonnell to erect <br />a super service station at Lincoln and El Camino Real, Councilman <br />Fletcher moved, seconded by Councilman Anderson, that permit be granted, <br />if approved by Planning^ Commission, the Building and Fire Departments, <br />Councilmen Itrmstrong expressed the opinion that motion was out of order <br />since no sketch of building was submitted, City Attorney McCarthy stated <br />that he believed it was the practice to require drawing of front elevation <br />location of underground storage tanks, and side elevation. Pending <br />loc'.tion of ordin<^nce action was deferred until later in the meeting, <br />I <br />! Referring to abatement proceedings carried on agenda, Councilman Britsehgi moved, <br />that in order to give those affected an opportunity to make proper <br />arrangements, rnd in line with the general understanding that abatement <br />{ proceedings would be enforced six months rfter end of war, sa-id abatement <br />proceedings be c,7rried on agenda until first meeting in January. Motion <br />.j seconded by Councilman Fletcher. After some discussion, Councilman <br />I Britschgi, with consent of second, withdrew his motion, and moved that <br />matter be continued from month to month,until second meeting in January. <br />Motion seconded by Councilman Anderson. <br />Mr. Banta Broke in his own behalf, stcting that his business was not a <br />I <br />nuisance, according to petiti^n in <br />the hands of the <br />City Clerk, <br />signed by <br />all his neighbors except one, the <br />complainant; City <br />Clerk Dodge <br />read <br />mod <br />
