104 man Armstrong voting in the negative. <br />Applic^tion was received from the Sequoia Prxent Teachers Association to con- <br />duct rummage sale at 5 Points Garage on November 16th and 17th, 1945, f <br />GTS <br />Councilman Britschgi moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty that per- <br />mit be granted. Hotion unanimously passed. <br />Communication was received from J.J. Joxda.n, Supt. Southern Prcific Company, <br />regarding installation of signal at Jefferson and 19aple Streets, <br />Councilman McNulty that letter be acknowledged and filed. On the ques- <br />tion, Councilman Anderson suggested that it be placed on the agenda for <br />the first meeting in November. Motion unanimously passed. <br />Communication was received from Port Manager A.A. Moran, regarding erection of <br />sign advertising Port's industrial properties. On motion of Councilmen <br />I <br />Granger, seconded by Councilman Anderson and unanimously pissed, letter <br />was ordered filed. <br />CommunicPtion was received from Christien Service of First Methodist Church for <br />permit to conduct a rummage sale at 1236 El Camino Real on November 2nd, <br />and 3rd. On motion of Councilman Armstrong, seconded by Councilman <br />Britschgi, and'un;nimously passed, permit was granted. <br />Communication was received from Y;illi&n B. Pedigc, Secretary- De :ocrut.ic Central <br />Committee, -regarding photograph of President Truman. There being no <br />objection, letter was ordered filed. <br />Communication was received from National :"lar Fund and Community Chest of <br />Redwood City, acknowledging Redwood City's contribution to current drive. <br />There being no objection, letter was ordered filed. <br />Communication was received from League of California Cities, requesting appoint- <br />ment of representative to attend meeting on disposal of surplus proper- <br />ties, in San Francisco, October 16th at 10 A.M. in Room 282, City Hall. <br />There being no objection, letter w?s ordered filed. <br />Communication from County Engineer M.A. Grant regarding serag•e disposal program <br />i^.as referred to consulting Engineer J. Frost on motion of Councilman <br />Granger, seconded by Councilman Anderson, and unanimously passed. <br />Councilman Armstrong; moved, seconded by Councilman Granger that communication of <br />C.G. Uhlenberg be pl^ced on agenda for further discussion. Unanimously <br />passed. <br />Application was received from N, ?7eber, General Contrvctor, 3327, 21st Street, <br />San Francisco, for extension of 45 days to com-plete work under Resolution <br />of Intentions Nos. 1945-2, 1945-3 and 1945-4 of City Council of Redwood <br />City, stating that lgbor and material shortages prevented completion of <br />job as per contract. <br />Communication Les read .from Charles Randlett, Assistant Acting City <br />Engineer, statins that Mr. Olarke ha.d left instructions that upon Mr. <br />Neber's application for extension of time to complete -:ork, it be granted <br />rrith stipulation. that contractor be,^r extrr cost to job amounting to <br />$12.00 per day for inspector's snla.ry, plus $5.00 per day engineering <br />costs. <br />Mr. Weber called attention to the fact that P. Sorenson, contractor, had <br />been granted 15 days'.extension on another contract, with no Pxtre ch,-rge <br />
