142 <br />Councilman Britschgi sug4rested a study be made of the possibility of installing <br />underpc,sses under S. F. Tracks to climir_ate long delays caused by blocked <br />crossings. Councilmen Mo?%ulty stated he believed the railroad should be <br />notified to keep crossings clear. City Manager Blom advised thrt the metter <br />of undern^.ss or rasses should be kept in mir_d in connection with the, -proposed <br />future Master Plan. <br />Counoilmn.n Fletcher aerain suggested tunvt the Council give some thought to the es- <br />tablishment of an airport in the city. <br />Consulting Engineer J:c'•c Frost reported that �prlicat=on for permit to construct <br />sewer dicrosal plant had been submitted to the state and pe snit h -s been <br />granted. <br />City Attorney McCarthy reported on progress on obtaining property for the recrea- <br />tion center on Roosevelt Avenue advising he honed to be in a position to re- <br />port to the Council that condemnvtion complaints would be reedy for filing <br />at the next meeting. <br />Dr, Morris Cummings, member of Library Board, made a few remarks stating that the <br />Board hoped the Council could study the job and salary classifications in the <br />nea.r future., <br />,'ire Chief Ryan reported the new nublic address systern ins being practically com- <br />pleted and ready for installation in the near future. <br />Ccancilman Fletcher brought up question of traffic violations recommending strict <br />enforcement of traffic laws. This opinion was also concurred in by Council- <br />man Anderson and Armstrong, both of ti:homm, were of the opinion that laws should <br />be enforced rigidly. <br />Street Supt. ,'inter reported on Kertz request for permission to erect fence on <br />property outside his property line. Councilman Armstrong, seconded by <br />Councilman Anderson, moved that application be denied. <br />Meeting adjourned on motion of Councilmen Granger, seconded by Councilman Anderson. <br />R. S.
