Ma <br />seconded, the motion. Mayor Hilton expressed the opinion that he would <br />w <br />vote in favor of the motion if all dance -permits were considered while <br />Councilmen Armstrong did not believe it would be proper to vote on a <br />motion contingently. He requested a roll call note and the following <br />vote was recorded: Ayes and in favor of the motion: Councilmen Ander- <br />son, Granger, McNulty and Mayor Hilton, who explained that he voted in <br />the affirmative only to settle the matter for the evening, and he be- <br />lieved some definite action should be taken on June 30 as to whether or <br />' not the Council is going to allow dancing to be conducted in the same <br />establishments as liquor is sold. Noes and against the motion::: Council- <br />men Armstrong, and Fletcher. Absent: Councilman Britschgi. <br />Application for dance permit was received from Yvonne Schlichtmann for per. <br />mission to conduct dances Wednesdays, June 6 and 13, fee having been. <br />1 •paid. Councilman Granger moved that the permit be granted in aceord- <br />anc% with the previous :diacuasion. The motion was seconded by Council- <br />man Anderson. Councilman Armstrong requested a roll call voter Ayes <br />and in favor of the motion: Councilmen Anderson, Granger, McNulty.and <br />Mayor Hilton. Noes and against the motion: Councilmen Armstrong and <br />Fletcher. Absent: Councilman Britechgi. <br />Application for a transfer of restaurant license was received from Raymond R. <br />LJI King and Leah J. King to operate Wimpyls 2047 Broadway. No liquor t,s <br />to be served. The Health Department had been notified but no report had <br />been received. Councilman Fletcher n►oved, seconded by Councilman Ander- <br />son, that the permit be granted subject to the approval of the Health' <br />Department. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Application for a transfer of restaurant license was received from Joseph <br />Boll, license previously in the name of Harry O'Dell, to operate Club <br />Seamus. Sales of on and off beer and on and off distilled spirits. <br />Prorated license has been paid from June I to June 30. Councilman Flet- <br />cher moved, seconded by Councilman Anderson, that permit be granted sub- <br />ject to approval of Health Department. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Communication from Joseph Boll was received reauesting dance permit for Club <br />' Seamus and advising that he was familiar with the terms of the ordinance <br />and would adhere to them. Councilman Armstrong was of the opinion that <br />the ordinance could not be adhered to as only a curtain separated the <br />room where dancing -is conducted from the bar. Mr. Boll advised that <br />there was a heavy curtain which separated the dancing room from the bar <br />and that no tables were on the dance floor.. Council Armstrong moved the <br />application for a permit to conduct dancing be denied on the grounds that <br />the establishment does not meet even the minimum requirements of the ordi- <br />nance. The motion was seconded by Councilman Granger and passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Anderson expressed the opinion that in regard to the question of what <br />constitutes a separate room he believed it would be well to consider all <br />
