He was informed that he was allowed.to do any <br />contractor's business under a general contractor's license. <br />Mr. Martin Flynn appeared before the Council in regard to the proposed alley to be <br />built in back of stores on Hain Street and asked that he be notified when <br />definite plane are made. <br />Councilman Fletcher moved, seconded by Councilman,,MeNulty, that the abatement <br />proceedings against the Rice, Hollenbaugh, Banta, Eekerle properties be con- <br />tinued to the first meeting in January. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Claims No. 6190 to 6243 in the amount of $9283.17 and Claim No. 6244 in the amount <br />of $238.69 were approved and ordered paid on motion of Councilman Mc Nulty, <br />seconded by Councilman Fletcher. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Fletcher moved, seconded by Councilman Anderson, that the meeting be <br />adjourned, Notion passed unanimously. <br />R. S. DODGE City ulerk <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 17, 1945 <br />-8:00 P.M. <br />On roll call the following were present: Councilmen Harold T. Anderson, 0. C. <br />Armstrong E. A. Fletcher, Floyd D. Granger, George W. McNulty, Mayor W. W. <br />Hilton and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Also present were: City Manager E. W. <br />Blom. City Attorney Paul A. McCarthy, Building Inspector L. M. Duncan, Police _ <br />Chief 0. L. Collins, Acting Fire Chief Joseph Lodi, City Collector N. L. <br />Miramontes, Acting City Engineer C-. E. Randlett. Absent: Councilmen Carl <br />Britsohgi. <br />Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as mailed on motion of Councilman <br />MoNulty, seconded by Councilman Anderson. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Application for dance permit was received from Yvonne Sohliohtmann for dances to <br />be conducted Wednesdays, December 19, 26, January 2, until 12:00 midnight and <br />on New Year's Eve, December 31, until 1:00 A. M. Councilman Armstrong moved <br />permits be granted until 12:00 midnight subject to the usual conditions if <br />the restriction is acceptable to the applicant. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Fletcher. Under the question, Mayor Hilton advised that Mr. Solarl� <br />had contacted him and asked if a concession could be made in regard to the <br />closing hour on New Year's Eve and assured him.that the bar would close at <br />midnight. Councilmen Armstrong and Fletcher were of the opinion that no con- IN <br />cession should be made. Councilman Armstrong requested a roll call vote and <br />the following vote was recorded: Ayes and in favor of the motion: Councilmen <br />Armstrong and Fletcher. Nose and against the motion: Councilmen Anderson, <br />Granger, McNulty and Mayor Hilton. Absent: Counoilman Britschgi. Councilman <br />Anderson moved the three permits for 12:00 midnight be granted and that the <br />permit for,New Year's Eve be granted until 12:30 A. M. to allow the celebrants <br />time for the midndgbxt'8e1L6brat1on%and the hall to be cleared by 12:30 A. M. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman McNulty. Councilman Armstrong stated <br />he was going to oppose the motion for the reason that it had been the policy <br />
