<br />RESOLUTION OF PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION
<br />No. 256
<br />RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Redwood Oity,'California, that
<br />it does hereby preliminarily determine that the public convenience and ne-
<br />cessity require, and that it intends to order the following work to be done
<br />and improvements to be made in and for said City, to -wit:
<br />1. The construction of the improvements on the streets all as particu-
<br />larly described in Exhibit A hereto attached and by reference made a part
<br />hereof.
<br />2. All of said work and improvements are to be constructed at the
<br />places and in the particular locations, of the forms, sizes and dimensions
<br />and materials, and to the lines and grades, and the elevations, as to be
<br />shown and delineated upon the plans, profiles and specifications to be
<br />made therefor and adopted by the City Council of said City.
<br />3. Said contemplated work and improvement, in the opinion of said
<br />City Council, is of more than local or ordinary public benefit,aand said
<br />Council does hereby make the cost and expenses of doing such work and
<br />improvement chargeable upon a district which district said City Council
<br />declares to be the district benefited by said work and improvement and to
<br />be assessed to pay the cost and expenses thereof, and which said assessment
<br />district, and the exterior boundaries thereof are more particularly describ-
<br />ed in Exhibit B hereto attached and by reference made a part hereof.
<br />4. Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent the unpaid
<br />assessments and bear interest at the rate of not to exceed five per cent
<br />(516) per annum, will be issued pursuant to Article 1, Section 3 and Section
<br />5 of Ordinance No. 333 of said City, commonly known and designated "Redwood
<br />City Improvement Procedure Ordinance" adopted March 14, 1932, as amended,
<br />the last installment of which bonds shall mature nine (9) years from the
<br />second day of January next succeeding October fifteenth following their date.
<br />5. Except as herein otherwise provided for the issuance of bonds, all
<br />of the above proposed work shall be done in pursuance of the provisions of
<br />Article 1 of said Redwood City Improvement Procedure Code.
<br />6. Notice is hereby given that Monday, the 7th day'of January, 1946,
<br />at the hour of eight o'clock P.M. at the Council Chambers of the City Coun-
<br />cil of said City in the City Hall of said City are hereby fixed as the time
<br />and place when and where any and all persons interested may appear and show
<br />cause, if any they have, why the city council should not find and determine
<br />that the public convenience and necessity require the improvements de-
<br />scribed and referred to in this resolution, without further compliance with
<br />the Special Assessment Investigation, Limitation and Majority Protest
<br />Act. of 1931.
<br />7. The City Clerk shall give notice of the adoption of this resolution
<br />by publishing a Notice of Pro]iosed Local Improvement once in the Redwood
<br />Tribune, a daily newspaper published and circulated in said city, and by
<br />posting same on or near the Council Chamber door of said Council, said
<br />posting and publication to be had at least ten days before said date of
<br />hearing.

<br />I hereby certify the foregoing to be a true'oopy of resolution adopted
<br />by the City Council of the City of Redwood City, California, at a regular
<br />meeting thereof held on the 17th day of December, 1945, by the following
<br />vote of the members thereof:

<br />The improving of Broadway between Maple Street and Chestnut Street
<br />by constructing a cement concrete 4" sidewalk 12 feet wide,
<br />The improving of Liguori Street between Maple Street and Chestnut
<br />Street, for its full width, by grading and constructing 6" water bound
<br />macadam base and 3" asphalt top pavement, cement'conerete curbs and gut-
<br />ters, and 4" side walks 51 wide and 8" vitrified clay, pipe sanitary sewer
<br />main with 4" wye branches and laterals every 501, and standard manholes
<br />complete, 8" cast iron water pipe mains, and 40 street light electroliers
<br />with necessary conduits and appurtenances;
<br />The improving of Beach Street between Broadway and Liguori Street
<br />for its full width, by eonstrudting therein grading, paving, curbs,
<br />gutters *nd sidewalks as provided for Ligouri Street;
<br />The improving of Maple Street,.between Boradway and the Bay Shore
<br />Highway, by constructing therein grading, paving, curbs and gutters as
<br />herein provided for Liguori Streets `between Broadway and Bradford Street,
