DODGE <br />Clerk of the City of Redwood City <br />I hereby approve the foregoing resolution this 21st day of January, 1946. <br />W. W. HILTON <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City. <br />City Manager Blom advised that the auto, collision, fire and theft insurance <br />policy on city automobiles expired on January 16 and he had obtained three <br />bids. The Hartford Insurance Company which has the present policy provided <br />a new policy on the assumption the business would be renewed. It was the <br />recommendation of the City Manager that the policy be placed with the Hart- <br />ford Insurance Company, all bids being equal. Councilman Anderson moved, <br />seconded by Councilman Armstrong, that the recommendation of the City <br />Manager be accepted. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Anderson moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty, adoption of resolu- <br />tion adopting assessment diagram under, Resolution of Intention 1945-3. On <br />roll call resolution passed unanimously with Councilman Fletcher absent. <br />Resolution on Page 208. <br />Councilman Granger•expressed the opinion that all matters which -come before the <br />Council should be placed on the agenda by 5:00 P. M., Friday 'before a <br />Council meeting to allow the Council time for study of matters to be brought <br />up and so moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Granger asked that the Council consider placing two amendments to the <br />Charter on the ballot at the coming election. 1: That the Clerk be respon- <br />sible to the Council rather than to the City Manager. 2. That all depart - <br />ment heads serving on commissions serve in an ex -officio manner. <br />Councilman Granger asked to have the City Attorney study the Veterans' Exemption <br />Law to explain it to the Council and Chief of Police so as to define a <br />disabled veteran. <br />Councilman Anderson advised that the lines on Dain and Broadway for parallel park- <br />ing were very faded. City Manager Blom advised he would look into the matter. <br />Councilman McNulty asked to have the City Attorney check on the setback line for <br />sidewalks near Five Points. Street Superintendent Winter advised that the <br />State had left six feet for sidewalks. <br />Councilman McNulty asked how often the street sweeper cleaned Main Street. City <br />Manager Blom advised that the sweeper had been out of operation and that <br />parts have been ordered for�its repair. <br />Councilman Britschgi questioned building at the corner of Blandford and Alameda, <br />expressing the opinion that it was a two dwelling house in the first residen- <br />tial district. Building Inspector Duncan advised that the owner is living <br />temporarily over the garage while he finishes the house and that it is later <br />going to be used as a room for his hobby. There is no plumbing equipment <br />in the garage. <br />207 <br />
