Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty, that the <br />recommendation of the City Manager be accepted and the necessary bond and <br />deposit be placed with the City Clerk. Under the question, City Attorney <br />McCarthy <br />advised'that he believed 80° bond would be sufficient which would <br />call for an $80,000 bond. Councilman Granger incorporated in his motion <br />that the bond be in the amount of $80,000 Motion passed unanimously. <br />Mr. Werder asked if in lieu of a bond if it would be satisfactory if a letter <br />i <br />fll;l <br />were written from a lending institution advising that funds are available to <br />cover the cost of the work. This was satisfactory to the Council. Council- <br />man Granger moved, seconded by Councilman Armstrong, that the City Attorney <br />be instructed to draft the necessary document based upon the fact that the <br />i <br />money will be secured by a lending institution. Under the question, City <br />Manager Blom pointed out•that the improvements are proposed to be done under <br />public proceedings and not by a private contractor. Motion passed unanimously <br />Petition was received signed by sixteen property owners requesting that Hudson <br />Street be widened from its present width of 30 feet to 40 feet. Mr. C. C. <br />Friegang appeared in support of the petition and asked that the work be <br />done before the ball season began inasmuch as people parked cars on that <br />street during that season which constituted a traffic hazard. City Manager <br />Blom asked that the matter be placed on the agenda for the next meeting. He <br />stated he was working on a plan to improve Hudson Street from Jefferson <br />Avenue to Woodside Road and was hoping to be able to use gas tax funds for <br />a portion of the work. He said, however, that it would not be possible to <br />do this before the ball season but that parking could be prohibited on this <br />street during that time. The matter was placed on the agenda. <br />Petition was received from property owners in the vicinity of Arch and Brewster <br />- � <br />requesting a rezoning of,127 feet on Arch Street and 130 feet on Brewster <br />q g g <br />Avenue to a commercial zone for the purpose of permitting the erection of a <br />modern hotel on the northeast corner of Arch Street and Brewster Avenue. <br />? <br />Councilman Britschgi moved, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, that the peti- <br />tion be referred to the Planning Commission. Motion passed unanimously. <br />} <br />Communication was received from Nelle L. Miramontes, City Collector, and approved <br />by the Real Estate Committee, advising that Mr. H. H. Weiner wishes to re- <br />deem three lots in the Lenolt Subdivision. The real estate committee agreed <br />. <br />7 <br />7i <br />to accept the am of $515.00 in payment of delinquencies amounting to $728.85 <br />on Lot 8, Block 7, Lenolt; $525.00 in payment of delinquencies amounting to <br />{ <br />$733.59 on Lot 2, Block 10, Lenolt; and $700.00 in payment of delinquencies <br />i�9911 <br />amounting to $1254.13 on Lot 8, Block 10, Lenolt.Ten per cent of the amount <br />is to be paid at this time and the balance on or before April 8, 1946.
