Motion passed unanimously. <br />City Manager Blom reported that it had been necessary to employ a married woman <br />in the Library and that it was also desirable to retain an employee in the <br />Water Department who was to be married shortly. These two employees have <br />taken examinati ons to qualify them for their positions but Council ap- <br />proval was necessary in order to continue to employ them. It was the <br />recommendation of the City Manger that, because of no single applicants <br />for these positions, the married women be appointed. Councilman Britschgi <br />moved, seconded by Councilman Granger, that the recommendation of the City <br />Manager be accepted in regard to Library, Water and Tax Department em- <br />ployees, until such married employees can be replaced, the period not to <br />exceed one year. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Armstrong moved, seconded by Councilman 1,3Titschgi, adoption of reso- <br />lution transferring $500 from the unbudgeted reserve to the Recreation <br />Department fund. City Manager Blom advised that this department was de- <br />riving funds from the operating of the kiln, which funds would be trans- <br />ferred to the estimated receipts. On roll call, resolution was unani- <br />mously adopted with Councilman Anderson and Fletcher absent. <br />RESOLUTION No. 277 <br />AUTHORIZING TRANSFER OF A PORTION OF UNBUDGETED RESERVE TO RECREA= <br />TION DEPARTMENT, ACCOUNT NOS. 442-1A-442-2 <br />RESOLVED that the sum of $500.00 be and it is hereby authorized to <br />be transferred by the City Treasurer from unbudgeted Reserve to•Recreation <br />Department, said amount of $500.00 to be used for carrying on Recreation <br />program which has been curtailed due to termination of Lanham Act Funds. <br />I! The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the <br />! Oouncil of the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting thereof held <br />on the 18th day of Gebruary, 1946, by: the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing <br />resolution: <br />Councilmen: ARMSTRONG, BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, McNULTY and HILTON. <br />NOES, and against the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolu- <br />tion: Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT: Councilmen: ANDERSON and FLETCHER <br />W.
