M. <br />On roll call the following were present: Councilmen C. C. Armstrong, Floyd D. <br />Granger, George W. McNulty, Mayor W. W. Hilton and City Clerk R. S. <br />Dodge. Also present were: City Manager Robert W. Mead, City Attorney <br />Paul A. McCarthy, Building Inspector L. M. Duncan, Police Chief C. L. <br />Collins, Fire Chief M. E. Ryan, Street Su-6erintendent H. L. Winter, <br />Health Inspector Emil Stein. Absent: Councilman Harold F. Anderson, <br />Carl Britschgi and E. A. Fletcher, City Collector N. L. Miramontes. <br />Minutes of previous meeting were approved on motion of Councilman McNulty, <br />r <br />seconded by Councilman Armstrong. Motion passed unanimously. <br />E <br />Application for dance permit for Wednesdays, June 20 and 27, was received <br />from Yvonne Schlichtmann, fee having been paid. Councilman Armstrong <br />moved that the action on this matter be deferred until later in the <br />meeting after the City Attorney had made his report in regard to this <br />matter. The motion was seconded by Councilman McNulty and passed <br />unanimously. <br />Communication was received from Henry Witte in behalf of his client, S. J._ C. <br />MagnAni, requesting permission to erect a sign 41 x 41 on the northeast <br />corner of Rogers and Stafford Streets. In answer to question of Mayor <br />Hilton, Building Inspector Duncan advised that it was necessary to se- <br />cure a permit f rom•the Council for a sign this size. Inasmuch as it <br />was impossible to determine from the letter what kind of a signr� <br />was <br />desiredo Councilman Armstrong moved that the matter be referred to the <br />proper administrative official for a study and report at the next <br />meeting of the Council. The motion was seconded by Councilman McNulty <br />and passed unanimously. <br />
