, <br />E <br />r <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Chemical Process Company be and it <br />is hereby authorized to employ the site identified in this resolution for the <br />operation and conduct of its business, provided that when plans are submitted <br />in connection with the Chemical Process Company application for a building <br />permit for its proposed plant, the same shall include all reasonable means to <br />avoid the emitting of obnoxious odor, dust, smoke, gas or noise therefrom. <br />The above and foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Counc it <br />of the City of Redwood 0 ity at a regular meeting thereof held on the 4th day <br />of March, 1946, by the following vote: <br />AYES: Councilmen: ANDERSON, ARMSTRONG, FLETCHER, BRITSCHGI, GRANGER <br />McNULTY and HILTON <br />NOES: Councilmen: NONE <br />ff ABSENT: Councilmen: NONE <br />W. Pinotti requesting pp q g permit to operate a roller <br />i <br />skating rink at the corner of .Chestnut Street near Spring Street. The build- <br />ing will be 951 x 2251 and will be built according to city ordinances. A <br />free parking area will be provided for 250 cars. No intoxicating drinks will <br />be sold or allowed on the premises, which provision will be enforced by <br />,F special police. Motion passed unanimously. - <br />This was the. time set for hearing of protests of proposed improvements on Beech <br />a•? <br />is Street, There were no written protests, however, City Manager Blom advised <br />that he had had several telephone protests against doing this work and that <br />k` <br />9 if there is a possibility that majority of the property owners will object <br />f when the final hearing is held, he would prefer not to expend the engineering <br />ii <br />j, effort required to prepare plans. City'Atiorney McCarthy advised that pro- <br />tests to be recognized must be written, however, it was the general consensus <br />that inasmuch as it was known that there was a great deal of opposition to <br />this -proceeding that the matter be carried on the agenda. Councilman Fletcher <br />moved, seconded by Councilman Anderson, that the matter be carried on tJie <br />agenda. Councilman Armstrong suggested that post card notices be sent to <br />interested property owners advising them that action will be taken at the <br />meeting of March 18 and that written protests must be filed. Motion was <br />emended to include this suggestion and was passed with Councilman Britschgi <br />voting in the negative. <br />Councilman Anderson moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty, that affidavit of pub- <br />lication of hearing on proposed improvements on Beech Street be filed. Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />City Attorney McCarthy presented and read proposed ordinance disfranchising cid <br />employees on commissions.
