250'' <br />this was an unnecessary ordinance, his belief being that if a city employee <br />is valuable to the committee by reason of his experience and is willing to <br />serve on the committee he should be allowed to do so. Councilman Granger did 0) <br />not believe that an employee should serve on a committee and vote on matters <br />which he would be asked to render opinions on by the Council. He believed; <br />such an employee should reserve his opinion in the matter until such a time <br />as the Council desired it. Mayor Hilton believed the City Engineer and City i <br />Attorney should be on the committee for technical assistance but they should <br />have no vote. Councilman Britschgi moved, seconded by Councilman Anderson, <br />that the matter be placed on the agenda for the next meeting. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />Resolution appointing elective officials and fixing polling places was presented. � <br />After some discussion, Councilman Fletcher moved, seconded by Councilman <br />• i <br />McNulty, that the hours for the polls to be open be fixed from 7:00 A. M. to <br />7:00 P.M. The motion passed with Councilman Granger voting in the negative. <br />R ES,OLUTION No. 281 <br />CALLING GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION FOR 1946 <br />Councilman E. A. FLETCHER offers the following resolution and moves its <br />adoption, to -wit: <br />P <br />WHEREAS pursuant to the Charter of the City of Redwood City there is to <br />be held on•Tuesday, the 9th day of April, 1946, a general municipal election <br />in the City of Redwood City; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Redwood City does hereby <br />resolve and declare as follows, to -wit: <br />A general municipal election shall be held in the City of Redwood City, <br />as provided by the Charter of said City, on Tuesday the 9th day of April, <br />1946, at which election there shall be elected the following -officers of <br />said City of Redwood City, to -wit: <br />Three (3) members of the Council of the City of Redwood City for the i <br />full term of four (4) years each; -and j <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that <br />for the purpose of holding such general municipal election said City of Red- <br />wood City is hereby divided into eleven (11) municipal election precincts; <br />the territory embraced within each of said precincts, the polling places <br />therein, and the election officers appointed to conduct said general munici- <br />pal election are as follows, to -wit: <br />REDWOOD CITY MUNICIPAL ELECTION PRECINCT NO. 1. <br />(Consisting of Precincts Nos. 1, 2, and 3 of the City of Redwood City, <br />as now established of record by the Board of Supervisors of the County of <br />San Mateo State of California, for general state and county election " <br />purposes.] <br />Polling Place: Residence of Mrs. Elizabeth Mansfield, <br />728 Arguello Street, in said City of Redwood City. <br />Inspector: Mrs. Jane Hutchinson 1006 Arguello pkj <br />Judge Mrs. Frances Wheaton Ilt�j� <br />Clerk: Mrs. Stella Mulcady <br />Clerk: Mrs. Mittie Winiger <br />REDWOOD CITY MUNICIPAL ELECTION PRECINCT NO. 2. 4 <br />i. <br />(Consisting of Precincts Nos. 4, 5 and 32 of the City of Redwood City, as <br />i <br />now established of record by the Board of SuPervisors of the County of San <br />Mateo, State of California, for general state and county election purposes.) n;'1 <br />Polling Place: Residence of Mrs. Lillian Eikerenkotter, f <br />408 Stambaugh Street, in said City of Redwood City. ?' <br />i <br />Inspector: Mrs. Mamie Glennan <br />Judge: Mrs. Mabel Hildebrand <br />Clerk: Mrs. Katie Greco <br />1 <br />Clerk: Mrs. Ed.
