He had said he would do what he could to pro- <br />mote the complete project, Councilman Armstrong moved, seconded by Mayor <br />Hilton, that Mr. Weiner's request be denied but that the Council will look <br />with favor on a petition to put in standard curbs and gutters and streets <br />in this tract. Motion passed unanimously, <br />City Attorney McCarthy advised that Mr. James Polk had advised him that the State <br />is acquiring title to a number of the lots on which the city has a condem- <br />nation suit pending. It was Mr,Polkts opinion that the city might acquire <br />these lots from the county for approximately $25 each, City Attorney Mc <br />Carthy asked that the Council appoint him and the City Manager to meet with <br />county officials in this matter. <br />City Attorney McCarthy also advised that the city has acquired lots near the <br />Animal Shelter which is to be the site of a new grammar school.' It was Mr. <br />Polk's suggestion that the city get title to the lots from the county and <br />then sell them to the school district for a nominal price, Councilman <br />Armstrong asked if the regular procedure to sell lots to the'sohool was nec- <br />essary, to which City Attorney McCarthy replied that it would not be neces- <br />sary inasmuch as it was a public concern, Mayor Hilton moved, seconded by <br />Councilman McNulty, that the City Manager and CityAAttorney be appointed to <br />approach the Board of Supervisors in regard to the two above mentioned <br />matters. Motion passed unanimously. ' <br />Councilman Granger asked that an investigation be made of the Poplar Avenue Sub- <br />division. He understood work had been stopped. <br />Councilman McNulty moved, seconded by Mayor Hilton that the meeting be adjourned. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Ralph Dodge 0 City Clerk <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />MAROH 18, 1946. <br />8:00 P. M. <br />On roll call the following were present: Councilmen Harold F. Anderson, C. 0. <br />Armstrong, Carl A. Britschgi, E. A. Fletcher, Floyd D. Granger, George W. <br />McNulty, Mayor W. W. Hilton and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Also present were: <br />City Manager E. W. Blom, City Attorney Paul A. McCarthy „ Building Inspector <br />L. M. Duncan, Deputy Fire Chief Jos. Lodi, City Collector Nelle Miramontes, <br />Police Chief C. L. Collins, Street Superintendent H. L. Winter, Acting City <br />Engineer Charles Randlett., <br />Councilman Armstrong requested that a correction be made in the minutes of the <br />adjourned meeting of March 11, 1946, on page 2, paragraph 3, which showed on <br />a roll call vote that Councilman Armstrong was absent. This should have <br />read Councilman Anderson absent, Councilman McNulty moved, seconded by <br />Councilman Armstrong, that the minutes of the regular meeting of March 41 <br />1946 be approved as mailed, and the minutes of the adjourned meeting of <br />March 112 1946, be approved as corrected. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Application for dance permit was received from Court Madrone No. 158, F. of A. <br />for dances to be held Saturdays, March 23rd and 50th until 1:00 A.
