290 APPROVED:
W. W. HILTON
Mayor of the City of Redwood City
Councilman McNulty offered resolution and moved its adoption ordering plans and
specifications for work to be done in Redwood Terrace No.I, seoonded by
Councilman Fletcher. Under the question, City Manager Blom advised that It
was going to be necessary to extend a storm sewer outlet for approximately
900 feet outside of the area to get drainage from a portion of the area.
He believed a major portion of the cost of such a structure would be charge-
able to the subdivision and the rest assessed to property adjacent thereto
and already in the city. He believed it might be well to include this
provision in the resolution so that it would be clearly understood. It
was agreed that 75% of the cost would be borne by the subdividers and 25*
to the adjacent property owners. City Attorney McCarthy dictated an addit-
ion to this resolution in regard to this agreement which was to be incor-
porated therein. On roll call, resolution was unanimously adopted with
Councilmen Anderson and Britschgi absent. The agreement in regard to the
drainage structure was to be added to the petition to have the work done
as well as in the resolution.
RES0LUTI0N'No. 296
ORDERING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
REDWOOD TERRACE NO. 1
INS
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Redwood City, California, that 111 !
MWHEREAS, request has been made on behalf of the owner of the property
in Redwood Terrace No. 1 to be assessed for these proceedings, that pro-
ceedings be undertaken by the City under the Redwood City Improvement Pro-
cedure Code No. 333, for the construction of the improvements substantially
as described in the petition for said work filed with the City Clerk, and
to assess the cost and espenses thereof upon the property benefitted there-
by, including the lands within said subdivision, together with the inci-i;
dental expenses to be assessed as an incidental expense in said proceedings,
said costs and expenses is not otherwise to be charged against said City;
and
i
WHEREAS, it is necessary in the judgment of the City Council that a
storm drainage structure be constructed concurrenrly with the improvements 1
herein contemplated from the easterly edge of the property known as Redwood
Terrace No. 1 to connect with an outlet of an open ditch on or near Oak
Avenue in the City of Redwood City and that the cost of such structure
should be apportioned between property within the City and the area of
Redwood Terrace No. 1 as hereinbefore stated;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that the City Engineer be and he is
hereby directed to prepare the preliminary survey, plans and specifications,
an estimate of cost, and to do and perform all other engineering work
necessary in said proceedings, including the preparation of the diagram and
assessments for the cost thereof upon its completion, and to employ such
engineering assistance as is necessary in the conduct of said proceedings
and to assess the cost thereof as an incidental expense of said proceedings;
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the cost of such service drainage structure II•
hereinabove referred to be divided as follows: Seventy-five per cent (756)
of the cost thereof against property within Redwood Terrace No. 1 and
twenty-five per cent (25) against property benefitted thereby and within
the City of Redwood City, prior to the annexation of the property generally
known as the Carson -Monckton Tract:
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a correct copy of a Resolution
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redwood
City, California, held the 20th day of March, 19469 by the following vote
of the members thereof:
AYES, and in favor thereof: Councilmen: ARMSTRONG, FLETCHER, GRANGER,
McNULTY and HILTON.
NOES: Councilmen: NONE ( I
