ri <br />More than fifty (500) per cent of all the votes cast at said general 3 25 <br />municipal election on said proposed Charter amendment (c) were in favor <br />thereof, and -less than fifty(50 ) per cent of all votes cast on said pro- <br />posed Charter amendments (a, (b(d) and (e) were against them and none <br />of said Charter amendments (a), (b), (d) or (e) was approved. <br />7. That the result of the absentee vote at said election is as here- <br />inabove set forth and that all absentee voter ballots have been duly re- <br />ceived and canvassed in time, form and manner as required by law, as <br />follows: <br />ABSENTEE VOTE Number <br />Absentee applications filed 5 <br />Ballots returned (total vote cast) 3 <br />Votes rejected (ineligible) 0 <br />Spoiled ballots 0 <br />Ballots counted (regular) 3 <br />Tbtal Absentee Vote 3 <br />8. That CARL A. BRITSCHGI, ARTHUR V. SWIFT and WILLIAM M. WERDER <br />received the highest number of votes given for said office of Councilman <br />and they were thereby elected Councilmen and the Clerk is hereby author- <br />ized to sign and deliver to each of them the oath of office prescribed <br />in the constitution of the State of California. <br />9. That the City Clerk of the City of Redwood City be and he is <br />hereby instructed to enter this resolution on the minutes of this City <br />Council as a statement of the result of said election. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at an <br />adjourned regular meeting thereof held on the 16th day of April 1946, by <br />the following vote: <br />AYES,'and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing <br />Resolution: Councilmen: ANDERSON, ARMSTRONG, BRITSCHGI, FLETCHER; GRANGER, <br />McNULTY and HILTON. <br />NOES, and against the passage and adoption of the foregoing Resolution: <br />Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT: <br />Councilmen: NONE <br />W. HILTON <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />City Clerk Dodge administered Oath of office to the newly elected.councilmen, <br />Carl A. Britschgi, Arthur V. Swift and William M. Werder. <br />Councilmen Fletcher and Anderson, the outgoing Councilmen, congratulated the <br />newly elected councilmen and wished the council success in the future in <br />the problems with which it will be faced. <br />Councilman Anderson moved, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, that the meeting be <br />adjourned sine die.
