HILTON <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City, <br />EXHIBIT °A° �• , <br />i <br />The assessment district for said bridge in Sapphire Street shall con- — <br />sist of all property abutting said Sapphire Street between Jefferson and <br />James Avenues. The assessment district for said bridge to be constructed <br />in Taft Street shall consist of all property abutting Taft Street between <br />Roosevelt and Vera Avenues and extending to a depth of 165 Feet south- <br />westerly from the southwesterly line of Taft Street and a distant of 110 <br />feet northeasterly from the northeasterly line of Taft Street. <br />Bids were opened for contract for drainage work at the corner of James Avenue and <br />E1 Camino Real. Two bids were received. Peter Sorenson, $2402.70. L. C. <br />Smith, $3879.50. In Mr. Sorenson's Bid, Item 10 appeared as•$1.50 written <br />and figures in error. It should have appeared as $150. The total bid in- <br />cluded the amount of $150. The Council agreed to waive this technicality. <br />Councilman u"rerder offered adoption of resolution awarding drainage contract <br />at the corner of James Avenue and E1 Camino Real to Peter Sorenson in the _ <br />A <br />amount of $2402.70, seconded by Councilman Granger. On roll call, resolu- <br />tion was unanimously adopted. <br />R E S 0 L U T ION No. 314 <br />1 AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR DRAINAGE STRUCTURE EL CAMINO REAL AND JAMES <br />AVENUE <br />WHEREAS the Council of the City of Redwood City pursuant to the notice <br />to contractors calling for bids for the construction of the improvement <br />hereinafter stated, received, examined and declared all sealed proposals or <br />bids for doing the following work and making the following improvements in <br />the City of Redwood City, to -wit: <br />for furnishing all labor, material and equipment for the construction <br />of a storm drain, along the westerly side of E1 Camino Real from James <br />Avenue southerly approximately 180 feet to the existing catchbasin, <br />consisting of reinforced concrete catchbasins and concrete pipe drain, <br />and filling with asphaltic concrete the valley gutter on the westerly <br />side of E1 Camino Real at James Avenue. All the.work to be done under <br />the conditions at the locations and of the materials described in the <br />i plans and specifications. <br />RESOLVED, that said Council of the City of Redwood City hereby rejects <br />vj,,all of said proposals or bids except that next herein mentioned and hereby <br />awards the contract for doing said work and making said improvements to the. <br />lowest, regular, responsible bidder, to -wit`: <br />PETER SORENSON <br />at the prices named in his bid, subject to approval of the State Highway <br />Commission. <br />The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish a notice of this award <br />twice in the Redwood City Tribune, a daily (except Sunday) newspaper pub- <br />lished, printed and circulated in said City of Redwood City, and hereby <br />designated for that purpose by the Council of said City. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a <br />regular meeting thereof held on the 6th day of May, 1946, by the following <br />vote: <br />AYES; and in favor of the adoption of the foregoing Resolution: <br />r Councilmen: ARMSTRONG, BRITSCHGI, FLETCHER, GRANGER,,McNULTY, S'NIFT, YiERDER, <br />and HILTON <br />NOES: and against the passage and adoption of the foregoing Resolution: <br />Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT: Councilmen: "NONE <br />W.
