1 <br />II� <br />I <br />IF <br />out and done in.accordance with said Resolution -of Intention No. 1946-3, 5' <br />or why said work and improvements should not be carried out and done ,at the grades <br />as shown on she plans, profiles and detailed•drawings-referred to in said Resolu- <br />tion of Intention No. 1946-3 and now on file in the office of the Clerk of the <br />City of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, at the day, hour and place aforesaid, when and where any and all " ' <br />persons having any objections to said work and improvements described in said Res- <br />olution of Intention No. 1946-3 or having any objection to the proposed grades at <br />which said work and improvements are to be done and made, or having any objections <br />to the proposed district to be assessed for said work and improvements, could ap- <br />pear before the Council of the City of Redwood City and show cause why said work <br />and improvements should not be carried out and done in accordance with Resolution <br />of Intention 1946-31 or why said proposed work and improvements should not be <br />carried out and done at the proposed grades as shown on the plans, profiles and <br />detailed drawings referred to in said Resolution of Intention No. 1946-3•and now <br />on file in the office of the Clerk of said City of Redwood. City, or why said work <br />and improvements should not be assessed against the district described in said <br />Resolution of Intention No. 1946-3 by map referred to therein, which map was ap- <br />proved by the Council of the City of Redwood City on the 19th .day of August, 1946 <br />NO persons appeared and made written objections to said work and improvements <br />described in said Resolution of Intention No. 1946-3 or to the extent to the dis- <br />trict to be assessed therefor; and <br />WHEREAS consideration of this resolution ordering said work and improvements <br />has been regularly continued to this date; and <br />WHEREAS said Council has acquired jurisdiction} to order said work and <br />improvements; <br />THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the public interest and convenience require the <br />work and improvements herein described, and the Council of the City of Redwood <br />City hereby orders the following work to be done and improvements to be made in <br />said City of Redwood City, to -wit: , <br />Grading and paving the following streets and portions of streets by <br />constructing a six inch water bound'macadam base and one and one-half inch <br />asphalt concrete surface; construct combined concrete curbs and gutters and <br />four inch cement concrete sidewalks five feet wide along each side of each <br />side of each of such streets; grading and paving shall be done and construc- <br />ted at all intersections of streets herein mentioned as follows: <br />a.) Linden Street between a line drawn between the most <br />southerly point of Lot 5 in Block A and the most easterly point <br />of Lot 7 of Block B. of Boyd and Kent's Addition as shown on <br />recorded map thereof, and the terminus of said Linden Street in <br />Park Street. <br />b.)'•Park Street from the southwesterly end thereof to the <br />terminus thereof in -Linden Street; <br />a.) Center Street from the southwesterly line of El Camino <br />Real to the northeasterly line of Murray Court; <br />d.) Madrone Street between the southeasterly boundary of <br />Boyd and Kent's Addition as shown on recorded map thereof and the <br />northwesterly line of Park Street; <br />e.) Cypress Street between the southeasterly boundary of <br />Boyd and Kent's Addition as shown on recorded map thereof and <br />the northwesterly line of Park Street; <br />f.) McEvoy Street for the entire length thereof. <br />FURTHER RESOLVED that the work and improvements herein described shall be <br />done under the direction of the City Engineer of said City of Redwood City, <br />and that materials used therein shall comply with the specifications heretofore <br />adopted and be to the satisfaction of said Engineer instead of the Superinten- <br />dent of Streets of said City; and that the assessments to be made in said pro- <br />ceeding shall be made and signed by said City Engineer instead of by Superin- <br />tendent of Streets. <br />The Clerk of the City of Redwood City is hereby ordered and directed to post <br />a notice of said work and improvements, together with plans, profiles, detailed <br />drawings and specifications.therefor, conspicuously for five days on or'near the <br />Council Chamber door of the Council of said City of Redwood City inviting sealed <br />proposals or bids for doing the work and making the improvements ordered herein. <br />Said City Clerk -is also ordered and directed to publish a notice inviting such <br />sealed proposals or bids and referring to the plans, profiles, detailed drawings <br />and specifications posted or on file for the period required by law in the Redwood <br />City Tribune a daily (except Sunday) newspaper of general circulation, published, <br />printed and circulated in the City of Redwood City, and hereby designated for <br />that purpose by the Council of said City. <br />IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that said sealed proposals or bids be publicly opened, <br />examined and declared by the Council of said City of Redwood City at the hour of <br />8:00 o'clock P.M. of Monday the 3d day of March, 1947, and all bids must be filed <br />with the Clerk of the Council of the City of Redwood City on or before such date <br />and hour. <br />The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of <br />the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3d day of <br />February, 1947, by the following vote: <br />
