NONE
W. W. HIJ,,TON
Mayor of the City of Redwood City -
ATTEST:
RALPH S. DODGE
Clerk of the City of Redwood City
I hereby approve the foregoing Resolution
this 7th day of April, 1947- 1
W. W. HILTON
Mayor of the City of Redwood City
Affidavit of publication of ordinance governing restaurants was ordered filed on motion
of Councilman,Granger, seconded by Councilman McNulty. Motion passed unanimously.
Councilman Granger offered adoption of ordinance governing restaurants, seconded by
Councilman McNulty. On roll call, ordinance was unanimously adopted.
City Manager Blom advised that in accordance with instructions of the Council bids for
an air compressor were received on March 31. A total of nine bids were received,
two on the same make of compressor and identical in price. The bids ranged from
02690 from the Rix Air Compressor Company on a LeRoi Compressor to a high bid of
$3269.24 less 2% discount from the Bay Cities Equipment Company on an Ingersoll
Rand Compressor. The bids and literature submitted had been examined and, although
it had not been possible to discuss the matter with City Engineer Longson, City
Manager Blom recommended one of the intermediate bids; that of Edward R. Bacon
Company on the Jaeger Compressor in the amount of $2959.17, or approximately
$270 above the lowest bid. In the notice to bidders and specifications, the city
reserved the right to award the bid to other than the lowest bidder. It was felt
this piece of equipment in the long run would give the city lower operating cost
to offset the additional 10,% paid for it. Councilman McNulty moved, seconded
by Councilman Granger, that the recommendation of the City Manager be accepted and
he be authorized to make the purchase. Motion passed unanimously.
Attorney Ernest Wilson appeared before the Council in regard to the financing of the
Broadway No. 3 project. City Manager Blom explained before Mr. Wilson spoke that
it was necessary to reach a decision as to the financing of the project and that
it appeared doubtful whether the normal purchaser of bonds is going to be inter-
ested in buying the -bonds. It was believed that the subdivider would have to
purchase the bonds.
Mr. Wilson reviewed the Broadway No. 3 project and stated that the project was
 I
being started over for the second time. In January, 194b, a resolution of pre-
liminary determination was adopted and a hearing held at that time. Since that
time it has been an engineering study and is now ready for
g g presentation. It ,p
was felt advisable to start the proceedings over because of so many engineering j
changes. Mr. Wilson had asked the engineers to make a rough preliminary assess- !
I
ment and, in reviewing it, he was of the opinion that the extent of assessment
I
