i'. referred to herein, that the posting of said notice's of improvement as aforesaidIL II was completed on the 27th day of March, 1947; and WHEREAS, it appears from the affidavit of that said Resolution of Intention No. 1947-1 was duly and regularly published in the Redwood City Tribune, a daily (except Sunday) newspaper published, printed and circulated in said City of Redwood City; and I WHEREAS in and by said Resolution of Intention No...1947-1 and the notices of the passage thereof posted as aforesaid, said Council of the City of Redwood City fixed Monday, the 7th day of April, 1947, at the hour of g o'clock p.m. of said day at the Council Chambers of the Council of the City of Redwood City in the City Hall !� on Middlefield Road in said City, as the day, hour and place when and where any and all persons having any objections to the proposed work and improvements described in said Resolution of Intention No. 1947-1, or to the grades at which said work and improvements are to be done and made, or to the district assessed for said work and improvements, could appear before said Council and show cause why said proposed work and improvements should not be carried out and done in accordance with said Resolution of Intention No. 1947-1 or why said work and improvements should not be carried out and done at the grades as shown on the plans, profiles and detailed drawings referred to in said Resolution of Intention No. 1947-1 and now on file in the office of the Clerk of the City of Redwood City; and WHEREAS at the day, hour and place aforesaid when and where any and all persons having any objections to said work and improvements described in said Resolution of Intention 1947-1 or having any objections to the proposed grades at which said work and improvements are to be done and made, or having any objections to the proposed district to be assessed for said work and improvements could appear before the Council of the City of Redwood City and show cause why said work and improvements should not be carried out and done in accordance with Resolution of Intention No. 1947-1 or why said proposed work and improvements should not be carried out and done at the proposed grades as shown on the plans, profiles and #� detailed drawings referred to in said Resolution of Intention No. 1947-1"'and now i' on file in the office of the Clerk of said City of Redwood City, or why said work and improvements should not be assessed against the district described in said Resolution.of Intention No. 1947-1 by map referred to therein, which map was ap- 1 proved by the Council of the City of Redwood City on the 17th day of March, 1947, NO persons appeared and made written objection to said work and improvements de- scribed in said Resolution of Intention No. 1947-1, or to the extent of the district to be assessed therefore; and III WHEREAS said Council did proceed to hear and pass upon any written protests and did resolve and determine that protests were not made by one-half'of the owners of the property proposed to be assessed for said work and improvements; and WHEREAS said Council has acquired jurisdiction to order said work and im- provements; WHEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the public interest and convenience require the work and improvements herein described, and the Council of the City of Redwood City hereby orders the following work to be done and improvements to be made, in said City of Redwood City, to -wit: The construction o� a sanitary sewer with manholes and other appurtenances and the restoration of pavement of Valota Road where such pavement is removed for the purpose of constructing said sewer, all as shown in plana, specifications, profiles and assessment diagram prepared by the City Engineer of the.City of Redwood City, to which reference is hereby made The area and street to be improved are as follows: Valota Road from the center of Redwood Avenue to the sewer in Woodside Road. That the improvements and work to be done in said street and avenue or area is as hereinabove described. FURTHER RESOLVED that the.work and improvements hereinabove described shall be done under the direction of the City Engineer of said City of Redwood City, and that materials used therein shall comply with the specifications heretofore adopted and be to the satisfaction of said Engineer instead of the Superintendent of Streets of said City; and that the assessments to be made in said proceeding shall be made and signed by said City.Engineer instead of by the Superintendent of Streets. The Clerk of the City of Redwood City is hereby ordered and directed to post a notice of said work and improvements, together with .plans, profiles, detailed drawings and specifications therefor conspicuously for five days on or near the Council Chamber door of the Council of said City of Redwood City inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing the work and making the improvements ordered herein. Said City Clerk is -also ordered and directed to publish a notice inviting such seal proposals or bids and referring to the plans, profiles, detailed drawings and specifications posted or on file for the.period required by law in the Redwood City Tribune, a daily (except Sunday) newspaper of general circulation published, printed and circulated in the City of Redwood City, and hereby designate for that purpose by the Council of said City.
