Councilman Armstrong offered resolution of <br />preliminary determination, Broadway Extension and adjacent territory and moved its <br />adoption with the understanding that it is not to be published until arrangements <br />satisfactory to Mr. Wilson and the City Manager are worked out for the guarantee <br />of the purchase of the bonds and the payment of the preliminary expenses, seconded <br />by Councilman Britschgi. On roll call, resolution was unanimously adopted. <br />RESOLUTION OF PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION No. 457 WW <br />BROADWAY EXTENSION AND ADJACENT TERRITORY <br />RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Redwood City, California, that it does <br />hereby preliminarily determine that the public convenience and necessity require, <br />and that it intends to order the following work to be done and improvements to be <br />made in and for said City, to -wit: 14, <br />1. The construction of the improvements on the streets all as particularly <br />described in Exhibit A hereto attached and by reference made a part hereof. <br />2. All of said work and improvements are to be constructed at the places and <br />in the particular locations, of the forms, sizes and dimensions and materials, and <br />to the lines and grades, and the elevations, as to be shown and delineated upon <br />the plans, profiles and specifications to be made therefor and adopted by the <br />City Council of said City. . <br />3c Said contemplated work and improvement, in the opinion of said City Council, <br />is of more than local or ordinary public benefit, and said Council does hereby make <br />the cost and expenses of doing such work and improvement chargeable upon a district <br />which district said City Council declares to be the district benefited by said work <br />and improvement and to be assessed to pay the cost and expenses thereof, and which <br />said assessment district, and the exterior boundaries thereof are more particularly <br />described in Exhibit B hereto attached and by reference made a par hereof. <br />4. Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent the unpaid assess- <br />ments and bear interest at the rate of not to exceed five per cent (5%) per annum, <br />will be issued pursuant to Article I of Ordinance No. 333 of said.City entitled <br />"Redwood City Improvement Procedure Ordinance", adopted March 14, 1932, as amended, <br />the last installment of which bonds shall mature nine (9) years from the second <br />day of January next succeeding October fifteenth following their date. <br />5. Except as herein otherwise provided for the issuance of bonds, all of the ' <br />above proposed work shall be done in pursuance of the provisions of Article IIA of <br />said Redwood City Improvement Procedure Ordinance, <br />6. Notice is hereby given that Monday, the 21st day of April, 1947, at the <br />hour of eight o'clock P. M., at the Council Chambers of the City Council of said <br />City in the City Hall of said City are hereby fixed as the time and place when <br />and where any and all persons interested may appear and show cause, if any they <br />have, why the City Council should not find and determine that the public convenience <br />and necessity require the improvements described and referred to in this resolution, <br />without further compliance with the Special Assessment Investigation, Limitation and <br />Majority Protest Act of 1931. <br />7. The City Clerk shall give notice of the adoption of this resolution by <br />publishing a Notice of Proposed Local Improvement once in the Redwood City Tribune <br />a daily newspaper published and circulated in•said city, and by posting same on or <br />near the Council Chamber door of said Council, said posting and publication to be <br />had at least ten days before said date of hearing. <br />I hereby certify the foregoing to be a true copy of resolution adopted by the <br />City Council of the City of Redwood City, California, at a regular meeting thereof <br />held on the 7th day of April, 1947, by. the following vote of the members thereof; <br />AYES, and in favor thereof, Councilmen: ARMSTRONG, BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, <br />McNULTY, SWIFT, WERDER and Mayor HILTON. <br />NOES, Councilmen: NONE I, <br />ABSENT, Councilmen: NONE <br />RALPH S.
