G <br />i <br />11 <br />that another diamond was needed to .accommodate all the teams. Material for the <br />173 <br />back stop of a chain link type of fence would cost about $400 to $500. The money <br />is available in the post war fund. He stated that the material could be purchased <br />and the work of installing and clearing the field could be done by contract or city <br />crews. A back stop was also needed at Community Park, the cost for which could be <br />taken from bond money. Councilman Werder moved, seconded ky Councilman Britschgi,- <br />that the City Manager be authorized to purchase the back stops. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />COUNCILMAN McNULTY QUESTIONED R. E. MOTT, JR.'S BILL for plans and specification for <br />Hawes Park. City Manager Blom advised that in order to do the work properly it was <br />i <br />necessary to have complete plans and specifications and he did not feel that the <br />claim was excessive for the amount of work done. <br />Councilman Britschgi offered resolution requesting the Board of Supervisors to <br />cancel taxes on property acquired by the city for recreational purposes and moved <br />its adoption, seconded by Councilman McNulty. On roll call, resolution was <br />unanimously adopted with Councilman Armstrong absent. <br />R E S 0 L U T ION NO. 465 <br />AUTHORIZING APPLICATION TO BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO <br />FOR CANCELLATION OF TAXES ON CITY PROPERTY. <br />RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that a petition for the <br />cancellation of taxes on property acquired by this City for public use be filed <br />with the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo in accordance with the <br />form of petition exhibited to this Council, and that the City Manager be and he is <br />hereby authorized and directed to sign said petition on behalf of this City and to <br />take such action as may be necessary to have the same favorably acted upon by said <br />Board of Supervisors. <br />J <br />' Passed and adopted by the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting thereof <br />held on the 21st day of April, 1947, by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution, <br />Councilmen: BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, McKULTY, SWIFT, WERDER and Mayor HILTON. <br />NOES, Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT, Councilmen: ARMSTRONG <br />1 <br />1 <br />ATTEST: <br />RALPH S. HILTON <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE ADVISED THAT THE PETITIONERS TO ANNEX THE REDWOOD INDUSTRIAL TRACT <br />desired to add an additional piece of property to the annexation proceedings and it <br />would require that the resolution adopted at the last meeting of the Council be <br />rescinded and a new one adopted. The new resolution would also exclude the two acres <br />of city owned property which will necessitate a separate proceedings. Councilman <br />Britschgi offered resolution rescinding Resolution No. 458 and moved its adoption, <br />seconded by Councilman McNulty.
