He was advised that the city can <br />at any time file the dertlficate with the Secretary of State to annex this territory <br />but it was felt that the population has changed so greatly that it would not be a <br />true picture of the wishes of that district at this time. <br />CL4IMS No. 1296 to 1381 inclusive in the amount of $29,905.96 were approved and ordered <br />paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Swift. M. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were present: Councilmen Floyd D. Granger, George W. McNulty, <br />Arthur VY:, Swift, William M. Werder, Mayor W. W. Hilton, and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. <br />Also present were: City Manager E. W. Blom, City Attorney Cuthbert B. Currie, Build- <br />ing Inspector L. M. Duncan, Police Chief C. L. Collins, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, City <br />Engineer Cecil Longson, Assistant Engineer R. E. Pontow, Assistant Engineer H. L. <br />Winter, Auditor -Assessor John J. Brophy, City Collector Paul E. Perrin. Absent: I <br />Councilman C. C. Armstrong and Councilmah Carl A, Britschgi. <br />COUNCILMAN WERDER MOVED APPROVAL OF MINUTES of previous meeting as mailed, seconded by <br />Councilman Granger.- Under the question, Councilman McNulty advised there was a <br />correction on.page 6 of the minutes in that Hawes Park should have been referred to <br />instead of Stafford Park. Councilman Werder amended his motion to approve the <br />minutes as corrected, seconded by Councilman Granger. Motion passed unanimously. <br />COMMUNICATION WAS RECEIVED FROM COUNCILMAN FLOYD D. GRANGER as chairman of the Disaster <br />Relief Committee recommending that the Council adopt a disaster relief ordinance. <br />He explained that this ordinance would be in conformity with the program of the <br />State Disaster Program and would protect civilians who responded to emergency calls <br />in the event of a disaster. He believed it would be possible for any citizen <br />wishing to respond in the event of a disaster to register through the Police or <br />Fire Departments of the city for activities not furnished by the Red Cross. Coun- <br />cilman Granger moved that the Council accept the recommendation of the committee <br />and the committee be instructed to make a further study and bring in an ordinance <br />for consideration of the.0ouncil at some future meeting, seconded by Councilman <br />Swift. Motion passed unanimously. <br />COUNCILMAN BRITSCHGI entered the meeting. <br />COMMUNICATION WAS RECEIVED FROM MRS. ANNA BENNETT ROBB thanking the Council for her <br />appointment to the Recreation Commission. Commication was ordered filed. <br />COMMUNICATION WAS RECEIVED FROM SENATOR HARRY L. PARKMAN acknowledging letter from the <br />Council and Resolution No. 463 recommending passage of Assembly Bills 1157, 1244 <br />and 1445..
