189 <br />There was no second to Councilman Granger's motion. Councilman Britschgi moved, <br />seconded by Councilman Werder, that the permit be granted. Motion passed unanimously. <br />MAYOR HILTON QUESTIONED THE USED CAR LOT NEXT TO THE NORMANDY RESTAURANT on E1 Camino Meal. <br />City Manager Blom advised that a temporary permit had been granted to Cuddy Motors <br />to use this -lot for a period of thirty days until their new building was completed <br />on Lathrop Street. This period has expired and he stated he would see that the <br />ordinance was complied with. <br />001414UNICATION WAS RECEIVED FROM THE CHAMBER OF 00141IERCE requesting the sum of $1,000 for <br />the purpose of reprinting the Industrial Survey. This communication was laid over <br />until the next meeting to allow time for the Council to study the matter. City <br />Manager Blom suggested that he be permitted to show this item in the tentative bud- <br />get and if it is desired it can be eliminated. It was so ordered. <br />MR, PAUL TRAVER OF REDV700D VILLAGE appeared before the Council requesting information as <br />to when fire hydrants were to be installed in the newly annexed territory. City <br />Manager Blom advised that this was a legitimate complaint and that some delay had <br />been caused by not receiving tapping valves and sleeves, however, he stated there <br />were some hydrants which could be installed and this would be done as soon as <br />-possible. In regard to an inquiry from Mr. Traver in regard to street lights being <br />installed, City Manager Blom advised that the P. G. & E. was going to install this <br />system and have been authorized to proceed with the work, however, there is diffi- <br />culty in receiving material. They have agreed, however, to install some lights <br />in stragetic positions. Mr. Traver also inquired about the improving of Spring <br />Street. City Manager Blom, in answer to this, stated that the street was in need <br />of complete improvement, however, he advised that the street would be given some <br />attention. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON JOHNSON STREET AND ALLEYS in Blocks 11, 12, 18 and 20, Eagle Hill <br />Addition. There were no written objections received. Mayor Hilton asked if there <br />were any oral objections. One resident appeared with plans of building which he <br />proposed to build and, after they were reviewed by the Council, he was advised <br />that the Building Inspector would be permitted to grant him a permit. City Manager <br />Blom advised that the petitioners for the improvement of the alleys had been con - <br />tatted in regard to the Council restricting building facing the alley and that <br />there had been no objections. Councilman Swift moved, seconded by Councilman <br />(Sranger, that the affidavit of publication of resolution determining to make improve- <br />ments on Johnson Street and alleys in Blocks 11, 122 18 and 20, Eagle Hill Addition, <br />be filed. Motion passed unanimously. , <br />i <br />Councilman McNulty offered resolution determining to make improvements on Johnson <br />Street and alleys in Blocks 11, 12, 18 and 20, Eagle Hill Addition without compli- <br />ance with the Investigation Act and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman <br />Werder.
