<br />of San Mateo, State of California on May 10.. 1916 in Book 10 of Maps at
<br />Automobile Dealers Association as requested by them. Councilmen Britschgi
<br />pages 4 to 11 incl.
<br />and Werder did not believe that this was the proper way of handling the matter
<br />AND WHEREAS, the aforesaid petition for annexation of the territory
<br />and were of.the opinion that this agency was entitled to a used car permit.
<br />hereinbefore described, to the City of Redwood City, a municipal corporation,
<br />has been filed with and received by the City Council of the City of Redwood
<br />City;
<br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT, AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Council of
<br />the City of Redwood. City does by this resolution give notice of such proposed
<br />annexation, does hereby designate said territory as the "Pike Property,', and
<br />does further fix Monday, the 9th day of June, 1947, at the hour of 5:00
<br />o'clock P. M. at the Council Chambers in the City Hall, Middlefield Road and
<br />Jefferson Avenue, Redwood City, California, as the day, hour and place when
<br />and where any person owning real property within such territory so proposed
<br />to be annexed and having any objection to the proposed annexation may appear
<br />before the City Council and show cause why such territory should not be so
<br />annexed;
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by said City Council that the City Clerk of the
<br />it
<br />City of Redwood City be, and he is hereby directed to cause a copy of this
<br />resolution to be published at least once a week for two successive weeks
<br />'
<br />prior to the day fixed for hearing, in the Redwood City Tribune, a newspaper
<br />printed, published and circulated in the City of Redwood City, the municipal
<br />corporation to which it is proposed to annex the hereinafter described
<br />'
<br />territory.
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that at any time not later than the hour set for
<br />hearing objections to the proposed annexation, any owner of property within
<br />the territory proposed to be annexed may file written protest against the
<br />proposed annexation. Such protests shall state the name or names of the
<br />owner or owners of the property affected thereby, and the description and
<br />area of such property in general terms.

<br />certify that the above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly passed
<br />and adopted by the City Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular
<br />meeting held by said City Council on the 19th day of May, 1947, by the

<br />APPLICATION FOR PERMISSION TO CONDUCT A USED CAR LOT was received from the Swenson

<br />Sales and Service, 555 Jefferson Avenue. They are now conducting an auto-
<br />mobile agency and•the used car lot would be on the vacant lot adjacent to their

<br />place of business. Councilman Granger moved the matter be referred to the
<br />Automobile Dealers Association as requested by them. Councilmen Britschgi
<br />and Werder did not believe that this was the proper way of handling the matter
<br />and were of.the opinion that this agency was entitled to a used car permit.
<br />They were of.the opinion that the Automobile Dealers Association wanted

<br />referred to them requests for used car lots when there was no new car agency.
