checking this point. Councilman Werder offered adoption of resolution of 8
intention to annex property known as the Pike property and fixing time and place
of hearing, the time of hearing being set for June 9th, and moved its adoption
subject to the City Attorney checking on the matter as to whether the Council is
obligated to annex the area by reason of its adopting the resolution. The motion
was seconded by Councilman Britschgi. Under the question, City Manager Blom in-
quired as to whether this area, if annexed, could be subject to the bonded indebt-
edness now incurred by the city. City Attorney Currie advised that the resolution
was not to be published if upon investigation he discovered that the city was
obligated to annex the area by reason of adopting the resolution. In regard to
j the point raised by the City Manager, he did not believe that it would be possible
I1 to apply the present bonded indebtedness to uninhabited territory although he
believed that an agreement might be entered into with the owner of the property
as to the assumption of the existing bonded indebtedness. Councilman Britschgi
asked that the City Manager bring in a report as to the advisability of the city
annexing this area from the viewpoint of providing a sewerage system. The City
Manager will submit such a report. On roll call, the resolution was unanimously
adopted.
RESOLUTION No. 474
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY GIVING NOTICE
OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY DESIGNATED '
AS °PIKE PROPERTY" TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY.
1^!HEREAS, under the provisions of that certain Act of the Legislature of the
State of California entitled "An Act to Provide for-the•Alteration of the Boun-
daries of Incorporated Towns and Cities by the Annexation of Uninhabited Terri-
tory in and as a Part of such Municipality, and for the Districting, Government
and Municipal Control of such Annexed -Territory".
