A roll call vote was requested and the following vote recorded: Ayes <br />and in favor of the motion: Councilmen Britschgi, Holmquist - with the understanding <br />that the service station is operated by Cuddy Motor Company, Swift - with the same <br />provision as voiced by Councilman Holmquist, Werder and Mayor Hilton. Noes and <br />against the motion: Councilman Granger because he did not believe the service <br />station operation had any bearing on the granting of the permit and Councilman McNulty. <br />After. the roll call was completed, Councilmen Granger and McNulty changed their <br />negative votes to the affirmative and unanimous vote was received granting the used <br />car permit to the Cuddy Motor Company. <br />COMMUNICATION WAS RECEIVED FROM CITY MANAGER BOM ADVISING OF APPOINTMENTS to the Planning <br />Commission and Library Board of Trustees which were to be made by the Council. The <br />term of Joseph Territo, recently appointed to the unexpired term of Cuthbert Currie, <br />expires this month, and the term of Mrs. Helen Myers on the Board of Library Trustees <br />expires on June 30, 1947. <br />JOSEPH TERRITO appeared before the Council and City Clerk Dodge administered the oath of <br />office to hire for the unexpired term of Cuthbert Currie as a member of the Planning <br />Commission. . <br />Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman Swift, that Joseph Territo be re- <br />appointed as a member, of the Planning Commission for a term of six years. Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Werder moved, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, that Mrs. Helen Myers be <br />reappointed as a member of the Board of Library Trustees for•term of three years. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />COMMUNICATION WAS RECEIVED FROM NIRS. RALPH. SCHOOP requesting Council assistance in clear- <br />ing title to lots in the Reese Subdivision which were purchased at a city tax sale <br />and which were later sold by the county at a tax sale. City Attorney Currie advised <br />that the matter had been before the court and that it is, being submitted on briefs <br />to Judge Cottom. A decision is expected sometime within the next two months. The <br />Clerk was instructed to notify the Schoops that the matter was before the court <br />and that a decision will be forthcoming. <br />OWNERS OF PROPERTY CONTIGUOUS TO THE PIKE PROPERTY on Jefferson Avenue appeared before <br />the Council requesting that their property be annexed to the city in the proceedings <br />now under way for the annexing of the Pike property. City Attorney Currie advised <br />that he had suggested that these property owners appear before the Council inasmuch <br />as the property which they wish.to annex is a broken lot and he believed this <br />should be explained to the Council before a petition requesting annexation was pre- <br />sented. A map was presented showing the area. After studying the map, the property <br />owners were advised to present a petition for annexation of all of the lot after <br />,nnexation of the Pike property is completed. <br />D. S. FABBRO appeared before the Council requesting clarification of status of permit <br />requested by him to convert building at 520 Arguello Street into apartments. The <br />minutes of the Council were referred to and the City Clerk read excerpts which <br />stated that a permit would be granted after approval of- plans by the Building <br />Inspector and Fire Department and subject to the cost not exceeding 20% of the <br />assessed valuation of the building.
