receive their proportionate share of any State funds which are allocated on a 23-9. population basis; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to make a formal request to the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Census, Washington 25, D. C., for a special census of the City of Redwood City; FURTHER RESOLVED that the terms and conditions set forth in the letter of J. Co Capt. Director of the. Bureau of Census, dated July 15, 1947, with reference to the deposit of $900.00 in a local bank and the forwarding of a certified check for $8.90 payable to the Treasurer of the United States, be.complied with; FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Manager of the City of Redwood City be and he is hereby authorized to sign a formal agreement with respect to said special census when submitted by the Bureau of Census. CITY MANAGER BLOM PRESENTED TWO COPIES OF THE 1947-49 BUDGET revised in accordance with instructions of the Council. A letter was attached to each copy of the budget which was read by the City Manager. Councilman Granger moved that before the final budget is adopted it be submitted to the City Attorney and C. G. Uhlenberg for clarification of the use'of parking meter funds, etc. The motion was seconded by Councilman XgNulty and passed unanimously, IN REGARD TO THE SALARY ORDINANCE, City'Manager Blom advised that in the rough draft the position of administrative assistant at a salary of $300 per month had been omitted and that the salary of the City Manager should be changed from 0600 per month to $615. Councilman Holmquist introduced the salary ordinance for the fiscal year 1947-45, seconded by Councilman Granger. Motion passed unanimously. COUNCILMAN GRANGER OFFERED RESOLUTION ACCEPTING?DEED OF SALE FROM THE CALIFORNIA WATER SERVICE COMPANY TO the City of Redwood City for the water system in Redwood Village, and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman McNulty. On roll call resolution was unanimously adopted with Councilman Wender absent. RESOLUTION No. 497. ACCEPTING DEED AND BILL OF SALE FROM CALIFORNIA WATER SERVICE COMPANY FOR WATER SYSTEM IN REDWOOD VILLAGE. RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that the deed and bill of sale from California Water Service Company, a corporation duly organized and existing under and by virtue of the laws of the State of California, to the City of Redwood City, a municipal corporation duly organized and existing under and by virtue of the laws of the State of California, date July 10, 1947, which deed and bill of sale transfers and conveys the water distbibution system now serving the area generally described as Redwood Village, is hereby accepted by and on behalf of the City.
