Councilman Britschgi offered resolution aw <br />awarding contract contract to L. C. Jensen for the installation of water mains in <br />Redwood Terrace No. 1 and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman McNulty. On <br />roll call, resolution was unanimously adopted, with Councilman Werder absent. <br />. <br />RESOLUTION No. 495 <br />AWARDING CONTRACT FOR WATER MAINS IN REDWOOD TERRACE No. 1. <br />WHEREAS the City Manager of the City of Redwood City did advertise -for sealed <br />bids.for performing work as follows: <br />Install water mains in Redwood Terrace No. 1, consisting of approximately <br />2500 feet of 8" cast iron pipe, 6300 feet of 611 cast iron pipe, 600 feet of "7 <br />V cast iron pipe, and 310 feet of 21' cast iron pipe with valves, fittings, <br />and appurtenances; <br />all materials for said work to be furnished by the City at its corporation Yard, <br />except jointing materials and any and all paving materials necessary for restora- <br />tion purposes; and <br />WHEREAS all sealed proposals were publicly opened and read in the office of <br />the City Manager, City Hall, Redwood City, California, on Monday, July 21, 1947, <br />at 11 o'clock A. M.; <br />NOWl THEREFORE, I'T IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Redwood City as follows: - <br />y <br />(1) That a contract for doing the work hereinabove referred to is hereby <br />awarded to the lowest responsible bidder therefor, to -wit: <br />L. It was <br />pointed out that the city would be eligible for increased revenue if a sufficient <br />increase in population can be shown. Councilman Granger offered resolution <br />authorizing the deposit of $900.00 in the local bank and also authorizing the City <br />Manager to sign the agreement providing for the special census, and moved its <br />adoption, seconded by Councilman Holmquist.
