{ COUNCILMAN GRANGER ASKED IF THERE WAS A RECOMMENDATION in regard to stop signs An 249 <br />Hudson Street. City Manager Blom advised that the Traffic Safety Commission had <br />met earlier in the evening and that they and the Engineering Department were now <br />in accord in their recommendation that Hudson Street be made an arterial street and <br />that there be a four way stop at Roosevelt and Hudson Streets. A traffic survey <br />had been taken at this corner and the traffic was equal on both streets. Councilman <br />! Granger offered resolution.and moved its adoption making Hudson Street an arterial <br />at Roosevelt Avenue, seconded by Councilman Werder. On roll call, resolution was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />R E S 0 L U T 1 ON No. 500 <br />ORDERING STOP SIGNS ON HUDSON STREET AND ROOSEVELT AVENUE INTERSECTION <br />WHEREAS on July 21., 1947, the City Council of the City -of Redwood City did <br />j adopt Resolution.No. 492, ordering stop signs to be placed at the intersection of <br />Hudson Street and Roosevelt Avenue, in favor of traffic on Hudson Street; and <br />WHEREAS the Traffic and Safety Commission of the City of Redwood City has <br />recommended that the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and Hudson Street be made <br />a four-way stop for all traffic; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redwood City <br />that in addition to the stop signs at the intersection of Hudson Street and Roosevelt <br />Avenue already provided for in Resolution No. 492 of said Council, stop signs be <br />j placed on Hudson Street on each side of Roosevelt Avenue; , <br />�. FURTHER RESOLVED that the Police Department of said City be directed to in- <br />stall and maintain said stop signs. <br />I hereby certify the foregoing to be a true copy of Resolution No. 500, <br />adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the 4th day of <br />August, 1947, at the Council Chambers in the City Hall, Redwood City, California. <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and the seal of the City this <br />4th day of August, 1947. <br />�F <br />RALPH S. DODGE <br />City Clerk of the City of Redwood City, and <br />Ex Officio Clerk of the Council thereof. <br />COUNCILMAN McNULTY QUESTIONED BUYING ENGINEERING STAKES at an outside lumer company. <br />City Manager Blom advised bids had been taken and this was the best price obtained. <br />i <br />COUNCILMAN-McNULTY ALSO.REPORTED SEVERAL BREAKS in water mains which the City Manager <br />noted. <br />COUNCILPAN HOLMQUIST SUGGESTED THAT THE AMBULANCE COMPANY list the number of calls made <br />' each month when submitting their bill. <br />MR. LUDWIG WERDER SUBMITTED THE FINAL MAP of the Redwood Industrial Tract No. 1. City <br />Manager Blom advised that the acceptance of the final map should be contingent upon <br />the Land Development Company entering into an agreement with the city for the comple- <br />tion of street improvements. An estimate has been made of the street improvements <br />including water mains, sewers and lighting system. The complete;.cost of the im- <br />provements is to be borne by the subdividers. The city is committed to extend <br />Broadway. The recording of the final map would be held up pending the signing of <br />f an agreement and money being placed on deposit. Councilman Granger moved acceptance <br />of final map of Redwood Industrial Tract No. 1, subject to the conditions�as set <br />forth by the City Manager, seconded by Councilman McNulty. Motion passed unanimously <br />Councilman Swift left the meeting. <br />CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE ADVISED THAT HEARINGS ON ABATEMENT PROCEEDINGS against the Fabbro <br />property and 2200 Middlefield Road should have been on this agenda. Councilman <br />Werder moved, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, that the abatement proceedings be <br />carried on the agenda of the next meeting.
