258-D.• $ 259-D <br />WHEREAS said .Council did proceed, on the 4th day of August, 1947, with said hearing and after <br />considering ail objections made and received does determine that due and legal notice of said hearing <br />was given as required by the ordinances of the City of Redwood City, as appears from the £fidavit d <br />L. M. DUNCAN on file in the office of the City Clerk; <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City and said Council does hereby <br />declare the buildings or structures situated upon the real property herainabove described to be a public <br />nuisance and does hereby direct the owner thereof to abate said nuisance within thirty (30) days from <br />the adoption of this resolution, by having said buildings razed or removed and if said buildings are <br />not so abated by said owner the Building Inspector of the City of Redwood 6ity is hereby ordered <br />and directed to raze or remove said buildings and that the expenses thereof be made a lien on the <br />lot or parcel of land from which said buildings or structures are removed and whichyis hereinabove <br />described. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting thereof held <br />on the 18th day of August, 1947, by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and a doption of the foregoing resolution: Councilmen: <br />Britschgiy Granger, Holmquist, McNulty, Swift, Werder %nd Hilton. <br />NOES,, Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT, Councilmen: NONE <br />W. HILTON <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />COMMUNICATION WAS RECEIVED FROM GRAY THORNING LUMBER COMPANY advising of improvement which they agreed <br />to make at the planing mill on E1 Camino Real. It was the opinion of the Building Inspector <br />that these improvements would not improve the structure. After!some discussion, Councilman <br />Britschgi moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty, that the matter be dropped from the agenda. <br />Motion passed with Councilman Werder voting in the negative. <br />PROPERTY AT 1321 MIDDLEFIELD ROAD HAS BEEN TORN DOWN and it was to be removed from the property at an <br />early date according to a report of the Building Inspector. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER QUESTIONED TWO BUILDINGS AT BRADFORD AND MIDDLEFIELD ROAD. He moved, seconded by <br />Councilman Britschgi, that these two buildings be referred to the Building Inspector and if it <br />is his opinion that they should be abated that he take the necessary steps to do so. Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />BUILDING INSPECTOR DUNCAN REPORTED THAT THE JOAQUIN SABLAN PROPERTY is being repaired and he recommended <br />it be carried on the agenda. Councilman Werder moved, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, that the <br />Joaquin S'ablan abatement proceedings be carried on the agenda of the first meeting in October. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />APPLICATION FOR RESTAURANT LICENSE TO OPERATE A RESTAURANT AT 2303 EL CAMINO REAL was received from <br />two applicants. This location was the former Two Friends Cafe. Councilman Britsbhgi moved, <br />seconded by Councilman McNulty, that the applications be denied. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Lj <br />CITY MANAGER BLOM REPORTED THAT W. G. FROST HAD SUBMITTED A BILL FOR ENGINEERING WORK IN BROADWAY NO 3. <br />He advised that there is a contract which provides for.deposit with the City Treasurer of a sum <br />sufficient to pay the cost of public improvements upon the sale of any property in this area and <br />also provision for certain sum to be deposited upon the rental or leaseof property. No deposits <br />halP ever been received and it was the recommendation of the.City Manager that the City Attorney <br />contact the various owners of property in the area to determine whether some decision can be made <br />
