Mr. Joe
<' Territo was appointed secretary with the understanding that he would not be responsible
Por detail work. .Planning Commission recommended that the firm of Hahn and Campbell
be retained to act as advisors, to assist in carrying out the provisions of the
Master Plan, and to assume responsibility for detail work at a suggested fee of $60
per month. Councilman Werder was of the opinion that the firm, having prepared the
Master Plan, would be invaluable to the Planning Commission, and that the fee of
$60 per month was very reasonable. Councilman Holmquist commented that if the firm
were employed and Mr. Wise to continue as advisor, the Commission would be resorting
to a subterfuge. Councilman Granger asked when a member of the City
Engineering Office would be available for the job and was advised by City Manager
that eventually there would be such a man available, however, at the present time
it was impossible, due to shortage of help, to assume this extra work. Councilman
Granger stated he would be willing to enter into contract with Hahn and Campbell
for a period of one year with the understanding that our own engineers would take
over at that time. Councilman Werder so moved, seconded by Councilman Granger,
and motion failed to carry on roll call. Matter was ordered placed on the agenda
with City Manager Blom bringing in a recommendation after -attempting to secure the
U
