Communication filed. COMMUNICATION FROM PLANNING 0014MISSION RECOMMENDING that Mr. .S. J. Moncrieff be allowed to resubdivide Lot 16, allowing 2388 feet to,become a part of Lot 17, explaining that this resubdivision would eliminate three 25 foot lots and result in one 50 foot F and one 48 foot lots. Councilman Werder moved, seconded by Councilman Britschgi j that recommendation be approved. Motion carried unanimously. k. COMMUNICATION RECEIVED FROM G. T. McCoy, Highway Engineer, State of California regarding Collier -Burns Highway Act providing for a system of Major Streets -in each city, which act will become effective on January let, 1948. Mr. McCoy suggested.t hat the fol- lowing paragraph be included in project agreements:. "The streets of, major importance heretofore designated by the City. Council of the City of under the provisions of Section 195 of the streets and Highway Code Chapter 642, Statutes of 1935, and approved by the department, are hereby selected by the City Council and approved by the department as the major city street system of such city as authorized by the Collier -Burns Highway Act." Councilman Werder moved, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, that we accept this sug- gestion with the understanding that such an acceptance will not prevent revisions or changes at any time in the future. -Motion carried. COMMUNICATION RECEIVED FROM WALDO H. STONE requesting that his recent request for per- mission to.build on a portion of Lot 17, Welesley Park be reconsidered. This pre- vious request was rejected by the Council at their meeting of June 2nd for the reason that lot area was of less than 5000 square feet as covered by ordinance. I' I Mr. Stone agreed to change his plan so that the square footage requirement would be met. Communication was.ordered referred back to the Planning Commission whose . 06 meeting will be held immediately after adjourned council meeting of September 8th. 0014MUNICATION WAS RECEIVED FROM Mr. G. 0. Wooten regarding the false front on the build-, • ing occupied by D. D. Restaurant at 1436 E1 Camino Real which was erected by the Baker Construction Company. Mr. Wooten had been notified that the false front encroached approximately 11-1/2 inches on the sidewalk area, and he had been noti- fied to remove same -immediately. Mr. Wooten asked for a temporary delay in which' to remove this front inasmuch as the store adjoining D. D. Restaurant would be taken over upon expiration of lease at which time the front would be taken down and re -constructed. Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman Werder that extension of time be granted providing cash or bond be deposited with the City Treasurer in the amount decided upon after discussion with City Manager Blom. Motion carried unanimously. COMMUNICATION WAS RECEIVED FROM DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS regarding the establishment of speed limit on Woodside Road of 35 miles per hour from El Camino Real, Station 0 to Gordon 4 Avenue, Station 38. Beyond this point, it was stated in the Highway report, the number of structures fail to justify extension of 35 mile zone beyond Gordon Avenue. However, since there is considerable building now in progress.on this section of highway, traffic engineers will keep the matter under their observation and a resur- vey will be conducted at a later date. Division of Highways also reported that further investigation will be made of curve between Valota Road and Kentfield
