M <br />W. W. HILTON <br />COUNCILMAN WERDER BROUGHT UP MATTER OF ACCIDENTS at Whipple and El Camino Real there being <br />several accidents during the past week. He was of the opinion that the proper <br />authorities should take necessary steps to have proper signal lights installed at <br />the earliest possible moment, and so moved, seconded by Councilman Holmquist. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />COUNCILMAN McNULTY REQUESTED City Manager Blom to check into the rough condition of the <br />Main Street railroad crossing. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER DISCUSSED the possibility of bringing in a special license tax cover- <br />ing amusement machines. He moved that the City Attorney prepare a, suitable ordinance <br />to cover, seconded by Councilman McNulty and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER COMMENTED ON ANNUAL REPORT of C. G. Uhlenberg and Company stating that <br />he wished to compliment him for the report, and especially for giving credit where <br />due. <br />COUNCILMAN McNULTY CALLED ATTENTION TO FENCE on Broadway closing out the unsightly appear- <br />ance of the lot., Councilman Granger moved, seconded. by Councilman Werder, that City <br />Manager Blom arrange to have a similar fence constructed at end of bridge on opposite <br />side of Broadway. Motion carried. <br />CITY MANAGER BLOM REQUESTED AUTHORITY TO HOLD PUBLIC SALE of old bicycles which had been <br />held for the required time, adviBing that it would be necessary to advertise sale <br />in the local paper. Time of sale suggested was Saturday September 27th. On motion <br />of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman McNulty, and carried, sale was <br />authorized. <br />CITY MANAGER BLOM REPORTED study being made by Insurance Company representatives. He <br />stated further that he had requested,a 30 day rider to protect the city to the <br />extent of 050,000 on property damage other than automobile. He will report back <br />to the Council as soon as survey is completed. <br />CLAIMS NOS. 2137 to 2205 inclusive, totaling $16,166.85 were approved and ordered paid <br />on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Swift.
