<br />Determination No. 521 to construct certain public improvements more particularly
<br />therein described, and did fix therein this date as the time and place when and where
<br />any and all persons interested may appear and show cause, if any they have, why the
<br />City Council should not find and determine that the public convenience and necessity
<br />require the improvements described and referred to in said resolution, without com-
<br />pliance with the Special Assessment Investigation, Limitation and Majority Protest
<br />Act of 1931,
<br />WHEREAS, notice of the adoption of said preliminary resolution and of said time
<br />and place of hearing was given by the City Clerk by publication and posting for the
<br />time and in the manner provided in said resolution of preliminary determination and
<br />Ordinance No. 515 of said City, as appears from affidavits on file with the City
<br />Clerk;
<br />WHEREAS, NO written objections to the undertaking of said proceedings without
<br />first complying with the provisions of said Investigation Act have been filed with
<br />the City 07,erk at or before the time fixed for this hearing by persons interested,
<br />owning or having an interest in real property within the proposed assessment district,
<br />bearing their signatures, a description of their property, and a statement of the
<br />nature of their interest therein; and
<br />WHEREAS, all persons interested have been given an opportunity to be and were
<br />fully heard, and said Council has duly considered any and all objections and
<br />protests made, and the proposed improvements, and the public convenience and neces-
<br />sity for making same.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS FOUND, DETERMINED AND ORDERED, as follows:
<br />1. That the public convenience and necessity require the improvements described
<br />in said Resolution of Preliminary Determination.
<br />2. That any and all objections and protest made pursuant to said resolution
<br />of preliminary determination be and the same are'hereby overruled and denied.
<br />3. That the improvements described in said resolution be made under and pur-
<br />suant to the provisions of Article IA of the Redwood City Improvement Procedure Code,
<br />and that the Special Assessment Investigation, Limitation and Majority Protest Act
<br />of 1931 shall not apply to said proceedings.
<br />I hereby certify the foregoing to be a true copy of resolution adopted by the
<br />City Council of the City of Redwood City, California, at a regular meeting thereof
<br />held on the 15th day of December , 19+72 by the following vote of the members
<br />thereof:

<br />WERDER and Mayor HILTON.

<br />AMENDMENT TO SALARY ORDINANCE. Amendment to salary ordinance setting up certain positions
<br />and salary for same, introduced on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded 'by Council-
<br />man Holmquist, and carried.
<br />UNION CEMETERY. Councilman Granger suggested that City Attorney write the Department of
<br />Finance, Sacramento in an effort to ascertain status of the appropriation by the
<br />State to maintain Union Cemetery. City Attorney so instructed on motion of Council-
<br />man Granger, seconded by Councilman McNulty, and carried.
<br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER VOICED OPINION that inasmuch as contract would be soon signed for the
<br />construction of the new Recreation building, steps should be taken at this time to
<br />start landscaping the area, planting of trees, etc.' He suggested the possibility
<br />of bond funds available for this purpose. Councilman Britschgi also suggested a
<br />temporary red -rock road be constructed to the site to expedite the building. The
<br />matter of location of the building, availability of landscaping funds, etc., was
<br />placed on the agenda for the next regular meeting.
<br />COUNCIL14AN GRANGER ALSO DISCUSSED THE proposed entrances at each end of the City, funds
<br />for which were included in the 194 Series Bonds. He was of the opinion the
