321, <br />APPROVING RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE WATER DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY <br />WHEREAS the Water Department of the City of Redwood City did on the 15th day of <br />December, 1947, adopt rules and regulations for the operation of their department, <br />including water rates and service connection charges; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redwood City <br />that the rules and regulations adopted by the Water Department of the City of Redwood <br />City on the 15th day of December, 1947, be, and they are hereby approved, including <br />specifically any and all increases in water rates and/or service connection charges. <br />t <br />i I Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular <br />meeting thereof held on the 15th day of December, 1947, by the following vote: <br />i AYES, and in favor of -the passage and adoption of the foregoing Resolution: <br />Councilmen: BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, HOLMQUIST, McNULTY, WERDER and Mayor,HILTON. <br />I NOES, Councilmen: NONE <br />I ' <br />A BSENT, Councilmen: SWIFT <br />I <br />W. HILTON <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />APPLICATIONS FOR USED CAR LOTS on file from Russ Denney and Bert Oback were held over <br />it <br />to next regular nesting on motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman <br />' Werder and carried. <br />APPLICATION OF WASHINGTON SCHOOL P. T. A. for permit to serve candy and refreshments on <br />Washington School grounds. It was pointed out that under the new business license <br />ordinance, such a project would not require a permit, being of a charitable or non, <br />profit nature. However, inasmuch as the location is in second residential area, it <br />was the consensus of opinion such a business would not be proper on school grounds. <br />On motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman McNulty, permit was <br />i, <br />denied, and clerk was directed to so notify applicant. <br />I OFF-STREET PARKING COhMITTEE REPORT. Matter placed on agenda for the next regular meeting. <br />BROADWAY No. 3 IMPROVEMENTS. On motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman <br />Holmquist, affidavits of posting signed by City Clerk and of publication signed by <br />representative of the Tribune, were ordered filed. Motion carried. <br />December 15th is the date set for public hearing by posting and publication of <br />j� notice. Mayor Hilton called for any oral objections of which there were none. City <br />Clerk advised no written objections had been received. There being no objections, <br />Resolution determining to make improvements without compliance with investigation <br />act was ready for introduction. Councilman McNulty introduced resolution and <br />' moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Werder and carried on roll call, Council- <br />I <br />man Swift noted absent. <br />RE S 0 L U T I ON No. 530 <br />DETERMINE TO MAKE IMPROVE14ENT WITHOUT COMPLIANCE WITH INVESTIGATION ACT. <br />BROADWAY EXTENSION AND ADJACENT TERRITORY <br />i <br />11 <br />RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Redwood City, California, that . <br />WHEREAS, on Decembeh 1, 1947, this Council adopted its Resolution of Preliminary <br />
