Carried on roll call, <br />Councilman noted absent. <br />RESOLUTION No. 529 <br />A`•TARDING CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF RECREATION BUILDING <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City did advertise for sealed bids for the <br />construction of a recreation building; and <br />WHEREAS all sealed proposals were publicly opened and read in the office of <br />the City Manager, City Hall, Redwood City, California, on Friday, December 12, 1947; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood <br />City as follows: <br />1. That the contract for doing the work hereinabove referred to is hereby <br />awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, to wit: <br />CARRICO AND GAUTIER -- Total bid, $46,552.00. <br />2. That said Carrico and Gautier's bid of $26.75 per cubic yard in place for <br />additional concrete, including excavations,.for footings deeper than minimum shown <br />on plans, be, and it is hereby, accepted. <br />3. That the City Manager of the City of Redwood City be, and he is hereby, <br />authorized to make and enter into a written contract with said successful bidder <br />and to receive and approve all bonds in connection therewith. <br />4. That all other bids are hereby rejected, sand the bid bonds and checks <br />are ordered returned to the bidders. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular <br />meeting thereof held on the 15th day of December, 1947, by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing Resolution: <br />Councilmen: BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, HOLMQUIST, McNULTY, WERDER and "Mayor HILTON. <br />NOES, Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT, Councilmen: SWIFT. <br />ATTEST: <br />RALPH S. HILTON <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />I hereby approve the foregoing Resolution <br />this 31st day of December, 1947. <br />W. W. Van Buren, Used Car Dealer, requested that <br />the Council hold up ordinance to give used car dealers more time to'study the <br />same. Councilman Holmquist stated he did not see any reason for rushing this <br />ordinance, and Councilman Granger, Chairman of the Committee that made a study of <br />the matter, recommended holding action over to the first of the year. It was <br />so decided. <br />PROPOSED INCREASE IN WATER RATES. City Manager Rolison explained the changes in the <br />regulations over the old rules concerning rates, installation charges, financing <br />of new mains by subdividers, etc. These changes were discussed with the Public <br />Utilities Commission in a recent cohference. Introduction and move for adoption <br />of Resolution authorizing adoption Of the new rules and regulations of Water <br />Department was made by Councilman BYlitschgi, seconded by Councilman McNulty and <br />carried on roll call, Councilman Swift noted absent. <br />RE SO LUT I 0N No. 529 <br />U, <br />
