<br />and government vehicles as might have to double park for a few minutes.' The
<br />general consensus was that double parking was undesirable but that some provision
<br />would have to be made to allow it in certain instances. It was d6cided,to accept
<br />Councilman Werder's suggestion of the green stickers issued by the Police Depart-
<br />ment and City Attorney McCarthy read the amended ordinance which Included this
<br />provision. Councilman Werder offered introduction of ordinance amending Ordi-

<br />one-fourth of land in�question, requesting annexation to the city of area known
<br />as Alden Subdivision. Annexation of this area had been recommended by the Planning
<br />Commission. Councilman Britschgi offered resolution'giving notice of proposed
<br />annexation of territory to the City of Redwood City known as Alden Subdivision,
<br />seconded by Councilman McNulty. On roll call, resolution was unanimously adopted

<br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of that certain Act of the Legislature
<br />of the State of California, entitled "An act to provide for the alteration of
<br />the boundaries of incornorated towns and cities by the annexation of uninhabited
<br />territory thereto and for the incorporation of such annexed territory in and as
<br />a part of such municipality, and for the districting, government and municipal
<br />control of such annexed territory, approved May 29, 1939 (Sats. of 1939, Chapter
<br />297, page 1567), there was, on the 2nd'day of December, 1946, filed with the
<br />Council of the City of Redwood City, a petition in writing, requesting that the
<br />uninhabited territory hereinafter described be annexed to, incorporated and in-
<br />c'ruded in and made a part of said City of Redwood City; and
<br />WHEREAS the exterior boundaries of said territory are described in said
<br />petition, and said territory is contiguous to the limits and boundary of said
<br />City of Redwood City, and are particularly described as follows:

<br />Report of Sergeant Douglass of the Police Department in regard to the Ipsen
<br />Rest Home
<br />was read by City Clerk Dodge. The report stated that an inspection of
<br />the home had
<br />disclosed that there were no bed patients left in the home and that Mr.
<br />•Ipsen was
<br />attempting to rent rooms. City Attorney McCarthy stated that, in view
<br />of the re-
<br />port, it appeared that the house had ceased to be used as a rest home.
