Eli <br />W <br />I " County in which said territory hereinbefore described is situated; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Redwood City does by this <br />Resolution give notice of such proposed annexation and does further fix Monday, <br />the 3d day of February, 1947, at the hour of 8 o'clock p.m., at the Council <br />Chambers in the City Hall in said City of Redwood City as the day, hour and place <br />when and where any person owning real property within said territory so proposed <br />to be annexed, and having any objection to the proposed annexation, may appear <br />before said City Council and show cause, why said territory should not be so <br />annexed. <br />IT I5 FURTHER ORDERED that the City Clerk of the City of Redwood City shall <br />cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least once a week for two suc- <br />cessive weeks prior to the date fixed for said hearing; and <br />IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that at any time not alter than the hour set for hear- <br />ing objections to the proposed annexation, any owner of property within the ter- <br />ritory proposed to be annexed may file written protest against the proposed annex- <br />ation. 'Such protests shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of the <br />property affected thereby, and the description and area of such property in gen- <br />eral terms. <br />The territory herein described and -proposed to be annexed to said City of <br />Redwood City is and shall be known as ATHERWOOD. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at.a regular <br />meeting thbreof held on the 13th day of January, 1947.; by the following vote: <br />AYES and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution: <br />Councilmen: ARMSTRONG, BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, McNULTY, WERDER and Mayor HILTON. <br />NOES, Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT, Councilmen: SWIFT. <br />W. HILTON <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />Communication was received from the Yellow Cab Company -requesting permission to lease, <br />on a monthly basis, the parking meter space in front of. the K1eer Drug Company on <br />Broadway. Enclosed was permission of the Drug Company, The Council was strongly <br />opposed to such an arrangement. Councilman Armstrong moved, seconded by Council- <br />man McNulty, that the applicant and the property owner be informed that, in the <br />opinion of the Council, the application is out of order and not within the pro- <br />vision of the Ordinance and the application is denied. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Communication was received from County Engineer M. A. Grant requesting permission to <br />construct 6° crusher run base, 20 feet in width with armor coat and curb and gutter <br />fronting property of the County on Broadway between Chestnut and National Avenue. <br />City Manager Blom stated he had an estimate made between putting in crusher run <br />base and concrete. The crusher run was estimated at $2136.50 and concrete at <br />$3464.70. He recommended that the City.join with the County and pay the difference <br />between the cost for crusher run base and concrete of :1328.20 so that the paving <br />on this street would be uniform. Mayor Hilton questioned removing fence at <br />National Motor Bearing. City Manager Blom advised the fence would have to be <br />
