108 <br />RESOLUTION RELATIVE TO t' lORKMEN'S.COMPENSATION BENEFITS for registered Volunteer <br />"Disaster Service Worker'sO. Councilman Holmquist offered resolution and moved <br />adoption, seconded by Councilman Morgan, and carried on roll call. Councilman <br />Britschgi'noted absent. <br />RESOLUTION No. 656 <br />RELATIVE TO WORKI4ENIS COMPENSATION BENEFITS FOR REGISTERED VOLUNTEER <br />"DISASTER SERVICE WORKERS". <br />WHEREAS, on June 21, 1945, the City of Redwood City duly adopted Ordinance <br />No. 595, an ordinance relating to disasters; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of Redwood City is desirous of becoming an "Accred- <br />ited Disaster Council" organization in order that injured "Disaster Service Workers" <br />registered with it may benefit by the provisions of Chaper 104, Statutes 1946, <br />First Extra -Ordinary Session. <br />NOW THEREFORE; BE AND IT HEREBY IS RESOLVED that the City ,Council of the " <br />City of Redwood City will follow the rules and regulations of the California State <br />Disaster Council and will keep a card index file of all registered volunteers, and <br />that it hereby interprets legal registration, which will enable volunteer workers <br />to qualify for compensation benefits under the provisions of Chapter 1043 Statutes <br />1946, First'lxtra-Ordinary Session and the rules of the California State Disaster <br />Council, to mean that a volunteer worker is registered within the meaning of the <br />aforementioned statutes and regulations when he receives an order, either verbally <br />or in writing, from any member of the Disaster Council of the City of Redwood City <br />to assist -or engage in disaster work and that member of the Disaster Council <br />giving such order makes a note of the name of the volunteer worker so registered.' <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular <br />meeting thereof held on the 17th day of January, 1949, by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution: <br />Councilmen: GRANGER, HOLMQUIST, MORGAN, SPILLERS, SWIFT, and Mayor WERDER. <br />NOES, Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT, Councilmen: BRITSCHGI <br />ATTEST: <br />RALPH S. City Attorney <br />Currie thought there was a question of the City abating the nuisance and then holding <br />the property owner for the cost .of abatement, and would like to study this matter <br />further. Councilman Morgan moved this be put on the agenda, seconded by Councilman <br />Spillers, and carried. <br />RESOLUTION 657. Auditor Brophy asked for the transfer of funds from Unbudgeted Reserve <br />to various accounts in order to keep accounts operating; $200 to Animal Shelter - <br />Motor Vehicle and ?900 to Sewer Department -Motor Vehicle. Councilman Spillers <br />offered resolution and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Morgan, and carried <br />on roll call. Councilman Britschgi noted absent. <br />RESOLUTION No. 657 <br />TRANSFER OF FUIJDS FROM UNBUDGETE'D RESERVE TO VARIOUS ACCOUNTS. <br />RESOLVED, that the sum of Two Hundred Dollars (0200.00) is hereby ordered <br />transfered from Unbudgeted Reserve to Account No. 412.3, Animal Shelter -Motor <br />Vehicle. <br />FURTHER RESOLVED, that the sum of Nine Hundred Dollars (x900.00) is hereby <br />it <br />E, <br />I <br />
