In <br />L. C. SMITH PROGRESS ESTIMATE, REDWOOD TERRACE �1. This was checked and approved by the10 <br />Engineering Department and was submitted for approval. Councilman Holmquist moved <br />that recommendation for payment be approved, seconded by Councilman Spillers, and <br />carried. <br />A. VALENTI, SEWER CONNECTION. City Attorney Currie asked that this be carried on agenda. <br />APPOINTI4ENT TO PERSONNEL BOARD, Councilman Granger moved this be carried on agenda, sec- <br />onded by Councilman Morgan, and carried. <br />PROPOSED STORAGE BUILDING FOR PARK DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT AT C01414UNITY CENTER. Councilmen <br />Spillers and Britschgi were on this Committee and City Manager Rolison reported they <br />were satisfied as to the location suggested as this strip could not be used advan- <br />tageously for recreation. One neighboring resident had been contacted. Councilman <br />Holmquist moved that neighbors should be notified of intent to build this building, <br />seconded by Councilman Swift. The Master Plan reserved this for parking lot; it <br />was thought a building would be an improvement over a parking lot. Councilman Morgan <br />brought up the point that this was not zoned for business or commercial and did not <br />think the City should use this area for storage of trucks and equipment. Motion was <br />withdrawn by maker, with the consent of the second. Councilman Spillers moved this <br />be carried on the agenda for further study, seconded by Councilman Granger, and carried. <br />RESOLTJTION NAMING MEMBERS OF DISASTER COUNCIL. Councilman Granger offered resolution and <br />moved 'adoption, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried on roll' call. Council- <br />man Britschgi noted absent. <br />RE S 0 LUT I O N No. 655 <br />RESOLUTION NAMING MEMBERS OF DISASTER COUNCIL <br />WHEREAS I the City Council of the City of Redwood City did adopt Ordinance <br />No. 595, relating to disasters, on June 21, 1945; and <br />WHEREAS, said ordinance created a Disaster Council; and <br />WHEREAS, it is now desired to name the individuals comprising -said Disaster <br />Council; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE AND IT HEREBY IS RESOLVED that, in accordance with said. <br />Ordinance No -595, the following are tha names of the individuals comprising said <br />Disaster Council and their respective offices: <br />Mayor Wm. 14. Werder - Commander and Chairman <br />City Manager E. A. Rolison -Vice <br />Commander and Vice Chairman <br />City Clerk Ralph S. Dodge - <br />Executive Officer and Chief of <br />Division of Personnel and Recruitment. <br />Doctor H. D. Chope - <br />Chief of Medical Division <br />City Engineer Glenn M. Jain- <br />Chief of the Public Works and . <br />Utilities Divison. <br />Police Chief C. L. Collins - <br />Chief of Law and Order and Communi- <br />cations Division <br />Fire Chief Joseph Lodi - <br />Chief Fire Division <br />George Duffy -'Chief <br />Transportation Division <br />W. Paul Whaley - <br />Representative of American Red Cross, <br />Sequoia Chapter <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular <br />meeting thereof held on the 17th day of January, 1949, by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution; <br />Councilmen: GRANGER, HOLMQUIST, MORGAN, SPILLERS,SWIFT, and Mayor WERDER. <br />NOES, Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT, Councilmen: BRITSCHGI <br />ATTEST: <br />RALPH S.
