City Engineer Jain stated things had been done that were <br />shown on the tentative map. Councilman Britechgi moved approval of recommendation <br />subject to the 8 conditions, seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried. <br />PROJECT STATEMENT TO THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT SETTING UP THE FOLLOWING PROJECTS TO <br />BE FINANCED from current Gas Tax Funds was submitted by City Engineer Jain for <br />approval. <br />(1) <br />Signals on El Camino Real <br />$17,000 <br />(2) <br />Right-of-way acquisition, <br />Jefferson Avenue <br />133000 <br />33) <br />Right-of-way acquisition, <br />Alameda de las Pulgas <br />,000 <br />�F) <br />Construction for widening <br />Jefferson Avenue and <br />Alameda de las Pulgas <br />159300 <br />(5) <br />Plans and specifications, <br />Harbor Road <br />29500 <br />$54,800 <br />Councilman Granger moved that recommendation be accepted as submitted, seconded by <br />Councilman Spillers, and carried. <br />MR. J. F. BEGGS, Virginia Avenue, appeared and stated this street was in need of redrock. <br />Robert L. Mandel also appeared and addressed the Council on this. Petitions had <br />been submitted. Earl Miner appeared. City Engineer Jain stated they would roll the <br />redrock if the residents would buys it. They wished it rolled down the middle of <br />the road only, as they could not afford to spread it the width of the street. Mr. <br />Jain recommended that plans and specifications be prepared, 66,5816 of the residents <br />had signed petition, and that the job be set up as an assessment project to be <br />completed as soon as those jobs already authorized had been taken care of. <br />COUNCILMAN MORGAN left the meeting temporarily at 12:00 midnight. <br />CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE stated a suit had been filed against the Southern Pacific to get <br />easements for interceptor sewer; City Manager Jain had examined the agreement and <br />it was satisfactory to the City. Councilman Spillers offered resolution and moved <br />adoption, seconded by Councilman Granger, and carried on roll call. Councilmen <br />Morgan, Swift, and Mayor Werder noted absent. <br />R E S d L tJ T I O N No. 668 <br />AUTHORIZING AGREEMENT WITH SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY <br />WHEREAS the City of Redwood City commenced Action No. 45650 in the Superior <br />Court of the•State of California, in and for the County of San Mateo, in eminent <br />domain for the acquisition of a certain easement for the construction, mainten- <br />ance and operation of an intereeptor'sewer; and <br />WHEREAS, the Southern Pacific Railroad Company and the Southern Pacific Company <br />are the owner and lessee, respectively, of said property over which said easement <br />is desired; and <br />WHEREAS, the Southern Pacific Railroad Company and the Southern Pacific Company <br />have agreed to grant said easement to the City of Redwood City under certain conditions <br />5 <br />
